I am not sure of the interest for bike application outside of serious downhill stuff on road or MTB but for MTB I would be worried at his fragile these might be. If it’s anything like car application, first time braking from cols is underwhelming, then awesome when hot on the track.

I’m interessted in giving these discs (in the centerlook version) a try on my roadbike. Can you recommend suitable brake pads for SRAM Force brake calippers ?

I think if you're a really heavy guy, riding a lot of long and steep descents, maybe even a less confident descender, they could make sense. For the vast majority of riders, no point.

I would tend to agree, maybe some weight saving as they are inherently lighter but you may also get away with 140 vs 160 in steel…
Regarding pads, for car application they are specifics to carbon ceramic because they can operate at much higher temps, not sure for bike applications; 100g of rotating mass saved for 200$ is not the worst weight saving spent on weightweenies builds

Personally, think they'e not worthwhile til proven otherwise. In auto application they require very high heat to be workable, Porsche actually applies the brakes thru the ecu until they're up to a usable temp, otherwise on the street very bad things could happen. And they have specific pads, and they're like 2k plus a corner, and they're fragile af. So no.

Ok carbon-ceramic isn't supposed to be quite that bad at low temps, it's carbon-carbon, the racetrack choice, that's a disaster

Carbon ceramic vs steel on a Porsche 911 gt3, winter driving, if your first braking is emergency stop, there is a not insignificant difference in favor of steel. On a bike brake with with pretty fast heat dissipation it may not be a winner.
The other aspect is that carbon ceramic discs don’t like impact and break more easily than iron, on car application it’s less of a worry but bike rotors are exposed.
I don’t follow DH competition in MTB but if they don’t have them, I think that’s all you need to know.

I'm not sure if they offer any advantage for DH use as current brakes/discs offer enough power and no one is really chasing weight savings. A large part of the pro field are adding additional weight to their bikes.
For road use is a 20g weight saving over a XTR disc worth the cost, noise and potential fragility?

should make clear why this is not a developed tech for road or mountain bicyles and why bigger companies haven't gone there
it is even more stupid simply putting a squealing carbon coating over steel (that just scratches off under even moderate braking) as in the aliex offerings
safety should be you primary concern - don't even think about it
