Does anyone have any recommendations for good SPD-SL Style Pedals?
My current 105 pedals have bit the dust and now need replacing. I'm not too bothered about weight, but durability and price are the priorities.

I have a pair of LFZ titanium spindle pedals. They seem well made and I am more than happy so far. The feel clicking in and out is very comparable to Shimano pedals, I would almost call it the same. I have only used them for ~1000 km so far, so no comment on durability. I would avoid these to my disappointment. I got a pair recently, that looked like the 2024 new version, and there was only one sealed bearing to be found when I took the axle out. Even worse, the place closest to the crank where you expect a bearing to be, maybe a needle bearing, was just a piece of plastic. On further inspection of the Ali reviews, there is someone mentioning it too. It’s not very aspiring for longevity.
I sent them back and received a refund. I wish it was otherwise.

May be the Ryet's brand ? Their saddles have good reviews.

Avoid Oniiri 2, these developed unrepairable play after 6 months of use.

I like the Onirii 06 in the titanium axle version. It is lighter than Dura-ace and has lasted me well. I have used these daily the last 10 months and I can report no fault. I think Trace Velo had a couple good things to say in his review on YouTube.

Do these work with shimano cleats? I read that some of the onirii pedals will not work with non-onirii cleats without lateral play, and onirii doesn't sell their own cleats iirc :(

I'm using a rebranded version of these pedals using 6° float SPD-SL cleats. My only issue is that I probably need to pack some grease into the axle, because they spin too freely. The actual pedals have been durable so far despite being lightweight.

It was so stupid that TraceCelo didnt try the oniiris with original shimano yellow cleats. The pedals are basicly useless once you are trough the cleats they provide with the pedals..

I'm using the Onirii PD-06Ti pedals on one of my bikes, they've been great after I replaced the glue-like grease with something less viscous.
For cleats, I use Exustar E-RSL11 cleats, and I have no lateral play. These cleats are also sold as Garmin Rally RS cleats - they're exactly the same thing, as Exustar makes cleats for Garmin. And you can save quite a bit of money by forgoing the Garmin-branded packaging.

I compared the cleats included with the pedals when new to a new set of Shimano yellow cleats, and they seemed completely identical, minus the Shimano logo. I'll have to test out the Shimano cleats and report back whether there is any lateral play, as reported by the others. As for the original cleats, I felt zero lateral play in the couple of thousand kilometres I put on them.

To me the included cleats felt much less secure, I don't exactly remember in what way though. The Shimano cleats felt better planted for the most part, except for some rocking when applying a lot of pressure on the outer side. It was never a problem in real outdoor riding, just something I'd notice if I made exaggerated movements when out of the saddle on a trainer. Im back on a cheap set of genuine Shimano pedals and they do just feel better. Both at maximum spring tension.

I use SPD rather than SPD SL pedals, but I've been severely dissapointed by most of the cheap aliexpress ones (tried a few - racework, zeray, ryet). They all developed play within a few hundred miles; on one of them the pedal body seperated from the spindle after just 10 miles when brand new. When I took them apart its very obvious the spindle & bearing quality just isn't there. One pair (the zerays) actually had no bearings - the spindle just spun on a bushing.
I've since switched to shimano - they're bulletproof and can be easily serviced and rebuilt.

Recently I found these Rockbros pedals with titanium spindle (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009859061301.html). Roughly 51 USD with coins and the current BF sale. Claimed weight is 180 g for both pedals, so very keen to try these out. I am happy with my current LFK pedals, but I am always trying to push the weight down as much as I can (not on myself tho lol).
They are probably from the same factory as the Kinan ones, they look the same to me.

I'm a heavy rider (104kg with shoes, helmet, etc) and I'm 4 months (and around 1000km) onto my onirii pedals (PD-06 with extended Ti axle) with zero problems.
I'm using it with the original shimano cleats that came with my PD-R540. I had to replace the shimano pedals after about 2300km, because it developed some play (it was getting worse after each ride).

Quick update: I have to say I am quite impressed by these. 177g weighted. They are not clogged up with thick grease as the other ones, they spin very freely. Easy to setup. Haven’t tried with OG Shimano cleats, but the provided cleats work very well, they clip easily. Let’s see how they are long term. Will report back :D

Have 4-5 in our bunch. After year of abuse no problems for everyone, slightly more body wear compared to shimano, but still working as day one. On photos my pair with extended spindle

Is the q-factor on Onirii extended axle the same as Shimano +4mm axles or is it shorter?

These ones are fine - I have 1431 miles (2300 km) on them. The only issue is when I tried to take the spindle off of the right pedal body, it was on very very very tight. I was unsuccessful, so I'll have to go to more extreme measures when I need to service. So that's a bummer.
