Title: 29er XC Hardtail - Modern Geometry
Post by: SaveTheSteel on September 26, 2025, 03:36:28 AM
Hi all,
I'm looking for a XC hardtail frameset in size 17” for 100mm travel fork with the following must-have features:

-Head tube angle 68° or slacker
-Seat tube angle 74° or steeper
-UDH
-Post mount brake compatibility
-Threaded bottom bracket

Nice-to-have (but not mandatory) features:

-Seatpost diameter other than 27.2mm
-Tire clearance for 2.35” or wider tires

Any suggestions?
So far i haven’t had much luck finding a frame that fits all these criteria, seems i'm asking too much!

Thanks in advance!

What he said :) I am very happy with my Meinier Snake. Seems to be a few people on this forum that are happy with it.

Pretty close to a Scott Scale

You can look at my build thread here on ChinerTown on that frame. Also one thread under the 27,5" forum on the same frame

Does anyone know this brand or this frame?
I think it looks beautiful. It features post mount brakes, a T47 bottom bracket shell, a head tube angle of 68.5°, a seat tube angle of 74.5°, and the seat tube internal diameter is 31.6 mm.”

It looks like it is made to work with rigid fork. There is no room for the fork's crown when it is turned. Also the length of the fork suggests this (490mm).

Are there any alternative to Meinier Snake Max?

I just noticed that the Meinier Snake geometry chart is based on a 530mm axle-to-crown fork length (e.g., a 120mm travel FOX fork). So, when using a shorter 100mm fork (with a 503mm axle-to-crown), the head tube angle is approximately 68.7°

Up to now i didn't find frames that with modern geometry for 100mm travel fork, threaded BB, UDH and post mount brakes

Because all modern XCs have now 120 mm front and rear (if applicable).
