I noticed these new wheels that are available for pre-order on 9velo's website: https://www.9velo.com/products/9velo-2026-ultralight-road-disc-carbon-spoke-extreme-c52-road-wheels-20h-20h-236-mm-inner-wide,-sub1000-grams?VariantsId=11772
Very expensive at 1799 USD... but the weight weenie part of me is intrigued. Curious to hear people's thoughts. As far as frames go, I'm more on side of cheaper frames. When it comes to wheels, I'm a total sucker for the pricier FarSports/9velo type brands though.

Peter from XMCS gonna be like...."hold my beer."

There is nothing special about this wheels..
The hubs look very familiar to me.. have seen them somewhere else at AliExpress ( honestly, not kidding )
And sub 1000g looking at the spec means 999g plusminus 20g
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I can't stop laughing.. this must be a joke. ;D ;D

The hubs are H-Works HX, thr ones that Zen aren't allowed to use anymore, rims are also in use by BTLOS and Zen can also get them.

This thread is late 😂
Hey actually Zen can no longer get these rims as well 🤔 will double check.
As soon as I seen these rim I asked Zara if she could get was suprised when she could including other sizes and lightweight
Xiamen is a big city but industry is small and they watch the forums and Facebook lurking 👀
My wheels order from Zen that was cancelled were estimated 994g no big deal the industry moves fast sometimes else will crop up

Now I remember. Yes thanks, it's H Works .
(and I am still thinking that I have seen them on AliExpress, but maybe it was just a very similar hub. some H Works hubs can be bought there with some company branding of course)
The hubs are indeed good, but .. the advertisement still overshoots a lot.

I think we might be getting into territory with some of these wheels where usability/reliability will rear its ugly head.
-
As a general rule of thumb, whenever anyone i think might be over 80kg asks me about good bike parts, I recommend they stay away from anything that could be considered "weight weenie." Which these wheels definitely are XD

They can't use HX hubs anymore? Are they exlusive for 9velo obły right nów?

Other companies pressured H-Works to stop selling it to them because Zen were undercutting them on price so hard. I'm aware of 9Velo and LB using these. I imagine it was indeed 9Velo. They've been using H-Works hubs since their first wheel. They must've done the same with the rim manufacturer, because Zen had access to those rims at first, but don't anymore.

I remember a time when it wasn't uncommon to see 70kg weight limits on wheels so some of these limits feel fairly high. I suspect the margins aren't close to being the same though.
