If he has visited Flybike he might know. Back in the day, they had different manufacturing, but these things change.

One thing to keep in mind is that, while more expensive, one-piece molding is quickly becoming the norm, and the $610 LTK266DSL is made that way, and I am sure there are others as well at similar price points. You don't need to pay SLC3 prices to get a frame that light or made that way.

Pet peeve. "Monocoque" does not mean what PT says it does. Same mistake I see repeated here on this forum. While the literal translation is "single shell" or something, in engineering terms it refers to a single load-bearing structure that serves as the shell. Making a frame in two pieces does not make it "semi-monocoque" as when assembled the load would still go through the shell. That designation applies to a structure where the skin is partially load-bearing and there is additional reinforcing structure inside, like an airplane fuselage.
