I'd like to see what the quality is like but it seems like a fairly difficult design to get right.

I've seen some actual photos and they look decent. there's nothing china can't copy, except for EUV lithograhy machines. lol

Yeah I wouldn't rule it out without some buyer reviews. But as a home mechanic, those bayonet steerers scare me - rep or not.

Internal routing scares me enough. How much more for a bayonet fork. I saw an assembly video of the new Cervelo s5 and the technicalities tof assembling a bayonet fork is not for me. So I’ll stick with internal routing for now even if it’s a PITA to work with sometimes lol.

Let at least six months pass from the moment it is released. They are always making improvements and corrections.

This don’t do crash test
Wait for others to fail and these shaddy sellers to improve
SL8 seems the most sold and tested so stick with this for now

Lol. I talked with LiLi and she told me that this frame is the real one and their frame will be produced next month.

Asked Tom via Whatsapp for pictures of the frame on a scale, because their weights seems quite optimistic. Dont know 100% the weight for a original Size S, but a lot of genuine frames are more than 1kg, so their quoted 900 grams for a Size S painted seems to good to be true. If i get any answers soon, i will post it here. Right now i follow this topic just of curiosity and dont plan to get a new frame (maybe china, maybe not) before middle of 2026.

Thinking about ordering the frame, will definitely make a post about it. Anybody knows if I should do a bikefitting before?

It's your money but I would strongly advise against buying a counterfeit frame. You are on a Chinese bike forum, surely there is another frame here that meets your needs without going down the counterfeit path.

Why?
Title: Re: Yohobike Now Has a Y1RS

Why?
because they didn't paint the metal ring on bb from their frames as original frame do. i have two frames for yoho and in this place is unpaint for better fit . screw are diffent amd the hole for fd has no so good finish. also sticker emirates isn't the same as original. for sure frame in photos is from yoho

Uhhhh, the BB sleeve is never painted, that would be atrocious for fitting the BB. The OG does not have this.

Has anyone here bought this model?

I am planning to build one but I got turned off due to a video by OZ Cycles who featured a replica Cervelo S5 with such poor bottom bracket and some other issues. For sure that frame also came from the same factory where all these replica bikes are coming from. Scary scary video, unless someone does a preview on youtube and then builds one. In asian instagram I see a lot of sketchy builds but I couldnt judge whether or not they are using replica frames but my guy feeling says so heheh

Yes also saw the video. Would like to know where it had been bought, however at the end he said the bike feels and rides great.

What is so scary about the bayonet steerers? After the headset issues I've had with my current frame I feel like I would be more confident in the clamping force vs my current headset that comes loose and then I can feel it move when I brake.

I think that is just a fear of the unknown. It is a bit trickier to put it together, but nothing extra hard imho.

For me a picture of the front width and rear width would be interesting. On AliX there were some frames with area under the seat clamping to the rear triangle that were way thicker than the original. I personally love the slim silhouette. That would be a criteria for me.

But or and: the pics on Yoho Bikes you can detect their frame vs pics of the original Colnago one when it comes to the front. The bajonett fork is at the soho bike 2 parts, vs a single part fork on the colnago. See pics attached. That 2 part thing is a bajonett solution used in the cervelo s5 until 2022 or something. I wouldn’t mind about that much. But I want to have this second part in the same color as the fork.

I also thought first, however did some digging and it seems there is an old version of original y1rs with 2 parts. In the video you see it in the sunshine.

I'm also interested, but I haven't seen anyone who has bought one yet.

I contacted several sellers and what I've noticed is that this model is selling quite well because no seller has the Y1Rs in stock, and the price is higher than other models. The lowest price I found was US$1,000.00 (excluding shipping).

The thing is, i would definitely buy this kind of frame from a more trusted source, because this cockpit and this kind of fork needs to be well made.

I am in contact with TaiwanEisen also, but they stated the stem is only available to a length of 125mm and not 135. (same as yohobike states...) I planned on going for a medium frame with 135mm stem. I like sitting forward and i am 184cm tall with normal leg length but long arms. It would be around 1.5cm shorter than my current Giant TCR like that. Which is maybe this one centimeter too long (because it is only 90 percent of the time comfortable).
So right now i am looking for a seller of the handlebars with a stem of 135mm... The weight doesnt bother me much, as long it stays under 7.99 kgs

This is an illegal product. It's not half illegal or in the grey area. It's full on illegal. So the concept of "trusted source" in this context is like giving your kids to your heroin dealer while running an errand.

Well seems extremely heavy so I would not buy a copy

Beyond the weight itself (currently reads 1050g±50g (size xs painted), which means 1100 in XS), the danger is a product that rides like a dog because they don't want the publicity of frames imploding (like the recent SL8 fakes with the exploding forks), and because it's a frankenstein design, instead of spending the time / employing qualified people to come up with a good layup, they're just putting a $hit ton of carbon everywhere. Some will remember how bad the first aero bikes felt, or how bad the first disc frames felt.
For this design especially, i think you can expect a genuine gap between how the real and the fake ones ride. When you're looking at an SL8 with mostly round tubes, i think you're a lot safer.
Nothing will stop a cringe baby from buying one of these (which is also why these chinese sellers simply do not need to do better), but for people who actually want to ride the bike, and enjoy it, if buying a fake, i'd stay clear of extravagant designs.

I attached the fotos Luna from TaiwanEisen send me. At least the area from the saddle clamp to the rear is slim like the original. Sadly they dont have a 0 setback seatpost available... Maybe Tom from Yohobike will answer me soon, regarding this, they claim to have this option available.

Clearly buying counterfeited frames isnt cool and i would never brag with it and tell everyone asking me or talking about the built later... But its a dream bike for me and i will never ever spend more than 5k on a bike.
Title: Re: Yohobike Now Has a Y1RS

I get that the real thing might be a dream bike but can a fake that's unlikely to ride the same ever give the same pleasure? Or is it the impression it gives to others rather than the enjoyment of riding? Genuine question. To me it's like having a kit car F40 compared to a real one.

Yeah it is for me enjoyable to use a kit car F40 just because the aesthetics are that special. And i would be fine with a differnt paintjob too, or without the colnago on the downtube. But it gives like rallye car replica vibes with the tdf paintjob for me and wc stripes. I saw a S-Woks paintjob on a SL8 replica here, and thats funny and would ride a funny brand name like this too

Seems a good scientific approach to why it sucks
To me the SL8 replicas at are their quality peak just because they sold thousands of this model and had to improve only to keep a good reputation  ;D

I will probably wait until autumn and I will choose Yohobikes. Had a good chat with tom and the pics and details he provided seem to fit. Like right now I will enjoy the cycling season and have too much work to do and too less space for an unbuild frame in the corner of my space.

Dude the virtue signaling is strong in this!
Perhaps ask the western brands your question, anyways the are all going to be gobbled up by the china frames very soon anyways.
All the people posting on instagram riding those Y1RS do not even have shame, notice how many of them are rockin the frame, especially from Asia.

I mean, Colnago are known for using really cheep hardware (heavy bolts, saddles and stuff) and sloppy QC when it comes to paintjobs, so I know.
