Title: Bxt gravel 135
Post by: Denny88 on December 18, 2025, 02:05:03 PM
Hello. Has anyone had the same problem as me? I have a large gap in the handlebars. Has anyone solved this problem? Integrated BXT handlebars

Pretty common apparently. I grinded down the split ring and used a thinner bearing to lower it. It still has a gap, but much smaller.

Not a problem on my BXT 135 winter/mudguard bike build, cut the steerer tube to give me the stem height I wanted and built up the fork, down, bar with no problems at all.

What mudguards are those?

No problem on mine either. There’s a tiny gap, but it’s much smaller than yours.

try different bearing, either thinner or the type with bigger chamfers

The stock bearing is 7mm. The thinnest I could find that would fit was 6.5mm. That plus grinding down the split ring helped, but there is still a gap. About the same size as my buddy who has a trek checkpoint with integrated bars so I'm ok with it. I've learned to live with it and it doesn't seem to affect performance or the bearings.

I think he got a dud fork. Its a pretty popular frame. We'd be hearing of a lot more failures if this was a common issue. I've beat mine up and its not had a single issue.
