Title: Phil Gaimon's New Bike Sponsor: State Bicycle (Speeder/Adapt?)
Post by: patliean1 on January 01, 2026, 11:39:19 AM
Cookie Man has a new sponsor with State Bicycle. No more Factor...

11:19 mark - You can see his all-road v2 frame which we know is a TanTan/Tideace GR201.
11:47 mark - But their upcoming road frame for 2026 looks very similar to an Adapt or Speeder frame no? The frame weight and headtube design is spot on. T47 and UDH too.

Phil says the company has been "developing this frame" which is an interesting choice of words from State.

Need to see the drive side and seat post. Because that looks like an Adapt DP-B02.

Edit: Nvm just watched the vid lol. There's a hole for mechanical FD so it might be Speeder scr55. If it's not then I am sure that frame came from China.

Maybe it is my very untrained eye but the headtube from the front looks like the speeder sc-55rd or the fm-55 from adapt.

Their all-road frame is currently on sale. $1275 USD down from $1500. I would be curious what they plan to charge retail for that Speeder frame. My guess is $1500-$1700 if Speeder frames direct run around $800-$900.

A 100% markup over the TanTan isn't a terrible value proposition when you consider shipping, tariffs, and a domestic brand handling the liability and customer support. So even if this new road frame comes in at $1700 it's basically a Tavelo Arow at a lower cost but with domestic support.

Looks like State Bicycle will be supporting a local St Louis mens elite crit team with this new road frame. Smart move on their part. Speeder/Adapt/Tavelo frames are proven equipment for racing. I'm pretty excited to be honest because the more elite teams running "Chinese" frames makes my job a little bit easier.

I've run into Phil a couple times up Mulholland and Griffith Park, he's a regular fixture around LA if you bike enough.

Also I like State bikes. I have bike buddies who are too scared to buy overseas, but they'll consider State Bikes. It's pretty common to see their gravel frames in my area and the State titanium frames are quite popular.

Even though State Bikes are just rebranded Chinese frames, their domestic support is more palatable and easier to deal with if any problems arise.

Nice. I didn't realize both Speeder and Adapt were back to B2C inquiries. Maybe I'll inquire myself lol

Take note that this is just frame + fork + seatpost and no paint. I payd 660 usd with paint included. Handlebar provided is 150 USD. They are used by Nich bikes and they call it Keys handlebar

Nich is definitely purchasing from Adapt. Their Legend 4 is the Tavelo Attak.

Parapera (EU) charges somewhere above 2000$ for SC-R55.

From the email exchange with Adapt, I don't think they're ready for B2C yet.
The MOQ is 20 pieces (with the possibility of reducing it for small producers).

For anyone interested, I also have the Adapt product catalog (both frames and handlebars).
