There are so many threads on powermters here at CT, but so far I haven't seen sth. like a complete market overview of chinese powermeters and infos about their accuracy.
I think an overview would be great, also for other readers here.
So far I run Power2Max from Dresden Germany on my bikes and my son uses SRM (the original inventor of powermeters and still the gold standart IMHO) on his track bike and TT, and Power2Max and Shimano on road bikes.
Want a powermeter on my track bike, tend to Magene plus an adaptor for 144 BCD.
But what are all the options and which one wins when accuracy counts more than best price?

I am on the same boat and quite peaky about the powermeter I use... on P2Max as my main PM so far. I expected XCadey to get better with a 2nd gen power meter but recent reviews were disappointing. I have Magene P505 on my TT bike and quite happy with it but wanted a spider-only option which would be cheaper and lighter.
I wouldn't look into other options unless the PM was tested by GPLama/DCRainmaker. If you don't mind a little bit extra weight, go for P515 - it is the best Chineese power meter you could get for a reasonable price. Another decent option is SIGEYI Axo, but at this price point it is worth to pay a bit extra and get P2Max, too bad I didn't have enough cash to get another one during Black Friday :(

Magene are the only ones so far who seemingly haven't made a dud. Unfortinately, they're also the only ones who don't make their power meters in a variety of interfaces. Just like quarq, you have to buy it with their own cranks.
I run a Magene P505 base and I haven't had any catastrophic issues, but I also haven't done a deep comparison with a second or third source.

They DO sell them with different interfaces... I have the 3 bolt P505...
Not anymore. At least I can't find equivalent P515 on Ali. The remains of p505 spiders cost ridicously more compared to the crankset which kills entire reason to go for Chineese PM.

I have a set of carbon cranks w/ 24mm titanium spindle from Peter at XM Carbon Speed that have been collecting dust since the summer. Can't seem to decide on an Easton style PM that will be reliable.
Right now I run a variety of PMs from Sram/Quarq and 3 from Magene. All are reliable and consistent across the board.
What's the verdict on Xcadey and Sigeyi? GPLama got me nervous.

The old sigeyi model was good once upon a time. If they haven't changed anything about it since PT and GPLama tested it, it could still be.

They never made them in easton.
The p505 spider and p505 base set can still be searched for on their websites, but they are all listed out of stock. Most likely this isn't because they are still making them and don't currently have stock, but because they stopped making them and their IT just hasn't done their housekeeping and removed those listings from their websites.

Toxin. I had not tried to buy one. It did shock me to see it on their site. I would be shocked to see them still producing the P505. I sure wish they would make the P515 like this.

They no longer make the P505 and p515 only works with their alloy cranks for 24mm option. This is just as most of us here thought and I want to let you know of their verification.

I regret not buying more 3 bolt Magene power meter spiders when they were on clearance. Plus they had mounts for both 3 and 5 bolt configurations.

I don't have anything to add aside from Magene being trustworthy and Xcadey leaving accuracy to random chance which is a shame, however power2max eu shop recently had a massive price cut as high as 250€ on all of their products if I'm not mistaken and their 144 bcd track spider is now 440€ for the ng eco. Road ng eco spiders are now 340€, ng spiders 540€. For NA things are looking less rosy

I run primarily Quarq, and have previously used SRM's. I'm very happy with a Sigeyi AXO, but it seems that everyone's move to "lightweight" pm's has been a bust. I suspect it'll sort out in time, Sigeyi went thru multiple firmware changes a few years back when the AXO first arrived, and now they're rock solid.

Wow, did not see it coming. Unless all these numerous sub 250 EUR spider get fixed there is very little reason to go for Chinese PM, as P2Max is pretty much second most reliable power meter after SRM and you can get any crank interface you want.

I wasn't aware of this price drop; I wonder if more and more inexpensive powermeters on the market were the reason for P2M to take this step. Good news for cyclists, at least!

Hi Patrick,
No Chinese option, but in terms of reliability, I vote for Power2max. I have three P2M, including a Lexon Carbon crank with Easton interface—all of them work flawlessly. The power meters are manufactured in Germany, which is why the price is higher in comparison.
I don't know how shipping/customs to the US works out, but it might be an option for you. Or you could become a US ambassador for P2M ;) 8)

I've been happy with my Sigeyi Axo, power still matches very close to my Power2max after a year of use. Needed 1.5% upscaling from the beginning (or my power2max needs 1.5% downscaling who knows). But the most important thing is that it's consistent.
The battery lasts so long when I think it's probably close to empty and check it's at about 50%.

I think this one is interesting. Apart from the temperature range the specs are extremely similar to the Thinkrider PP5.
Personally, I have been extremely satisfied with the (data) quality of my Coospo H9Z. It has been way better than a Polar H10 I once had and any other HRM I have had.
In Coospo’s comparison against the Favero pedals it looks like they did some sort of sprint/acceleration with a decent result. In contrast to this is the data example from the Thinkrider PP5 page. That one is done pretty much as a steady state effort and that shouldn’t be that much of a challenge to get right.
Okay, Coospo does not show any values for axis, and there most certainly is no guarantee that the data is true. I think the recent GPLama reviews have shown us that most manufacturers own data and testing cannot be trusted.

All those news random power meters look like xcadey clones, same charging port etc. Probably all made in same factory to get rid of old stock.

So far SIGEYI AXO 1st gen looks pretty good, and gives me reliable results for my daily rides.
The 2nd gen (AXO SL) looks even better and slightly lighter, meanwhile not a huge increase in price.
And there is no stupid registration nor region lock, unlike Magene, just plug and go.
I also owned Shimano version SIGEYI power meter (send the crankset to their factory to be modified), the result is pretty bad.
The left/right balance seems not working correctly and results very unreliable power numbers (maybe resulted by temperature), and eventually the batteries wear at different level.
I guess the newer Shimano's official power meter design will be much better (strain gauges on both sides of the drive-side crank), but I didn't think one would consider Shimano PMs due to their price and weight.

Because in my country at least (Australia), the Thinkrider (85USD) is less than 1/10th the cost of a set of Faveros (900USD). If it is just as good, or nearly as good, it's an opportunity for a substantial saving.
Secondly, I previously had a pair of Faveros where the bearings disintegrated, wore into the axle and ruined the pedal spindle. Best they could offer (out of warranty, admittedly), was €50 off a new pair. That really put me off power meter pedals, at least with spiders there are no bearings or other wear items to worry about.

here in italy I find SRAM FORCE AXS Powermeter Upgrade | DUB Wide | E1 for 198 euros.. this is the crank arms with PM inside the spindle.
