Here is a detailed breakdown of my personnal experience regarding the purchase, shipping, and technical inspection of my new SL8 frameset.
Please don't raise a Pro/Against debate on replica frames and things like that and don't forget that it is my OWN PERSONNAL experience.
🤝 Communication & Buying Process
The process started on AliExpress but moved to WhatsApp for easier exchange of photos and technical specs.
Responsiveness: The seller answered every single question. Although there was occasionally a slight delay due to the time difference, the support was top-notch.
Trust: Extremely satisfied with the pre-purchase communication.
📦 Logistics & Delivery
The timeline was strictly respected, which is a major plus:
Production Time: 15 days.
Shipping (to France): 12 days.
Customs: No customs fees incurred (DDP/Tax-free shipping).
Condition upon arrival: The package arrived in great shape. The frame was very securely wrapped and protected.
🔍 Technical Inspection:
1. The Fork (364 g)
A lightweight component with impressive finishing:
Aesthetics: Flawless paint job.
Design: Includes drainage holes for water evacuation.
Machining: Excellent axial and thickness tolerances. The internal cable routing holes are very clean, and the brake caliper mounts are perfectly finished.
2. The Frame (722 g)
The weight is impressive, especially considering the structural integrity:
Finish: No paint defects. The bottom bracket shell and brake mounts are perfectly faced.
Mechanicals: Everything threads in by hand with no resistance—a sign of high-precision machining.
Bearings fit snugly into the frame as intended.
Details: High-quality accessories throughout. The bottle cage bolts even feature the "S-Works" branding.
3. Endoscopic Examination (Internal)
This is where true carbon quality is revealed:
Internal Walls: No issues to report. Everything is perfectly smooth, even at the complex junctions of the rear triangle.
Tap coin test: The sound is uniform across the frame, confirming consistent density and high-quality layup.
💡 Preliminary Conclusion
I highly recommend this seller. The finishing is truly incredible.
I will be assembling the bike next week to see if the performance on the road matches this first impression.

Update :
The build is complete, and it’s a real pleasure when everything aligns so perfectly. It truly confirms my first impression regarding the high quality of the frame:
Smooth process: The crankset slipped into the bottom bracket effortlessly.
Precision: Brake alignment and adjustment were spot on immediately.
Internal Routing: Passing the hoses through the handlebar, which can often be a headache, was easy thanks to the routing kit.
First 30 km shakedown ride :
It’s still too early for a full review, but here are the first takeaways:
✅ Zero creaking: Perfectly silent.
✅ The seatpost is perfectly held and doesn't slip.
✅ Silent braking: No rubbing between pads and discs.
✅ Performance: The bars feel stiff, and the frame absorbs vibrations beautifully while remaining very "lively."
I'll share more detailed impressions after a few longer rides!
Build (including bottle cages and powermeter pedals) is 6,9 kg.
