Hello guys, I am building my bike and decided to build my own groupset, can yall see and rate it? I am kinda in a budger but if anything should be upgraded let me know aswell ;D

Do you have to pay any import tax or do they ship prepaid?

Keeping the budget basically the same I'd drop the cranks down to 105 and upgrade the FD to Ultegra, price should be similar and the Ultegra FD is both smaller, lighter and slightly faster, the 105 cranks are only like 40g heavier so not worth doubling the price for Ultegra imo. the CL900 rotors are also needlessly more expensive than CL800 which are basically the same just different color.
This is of course all pointless debate if you can just get full Ultegra from cyclegears for the same price as your custom :D

yes, it's legit.
I've bought and even visted them. They sell the groupsets in OEM packaging (so not in the fancy boxes), but everything is legit.

I now have three bikes with Shimano 12 speed, one each with full 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace, so feel well qualified to anwer this!
Functionally 105 is absolutely fine, there is very little difference between it and the others there are just these things that IMO is well worth going higher up the range:
- The shifters don't have the bonus buttons at the top, which once you have and have set up to control your computer, you will miss massively. You can set up Front Shift Next and get a free button back on 105 to control using tap, double tap, long press - but its nowhere near as good
- The rear mech on 105 has bushings in the jockey wheels. Which feels ludicrously cheap in a groupset that costs about £900 / 1000 dollars / euros. Very quick and cheap fix in paying for Ultegra jockey wheels, but you shouldn't need to do that
Then...
- As mentioned, the front mech for 105 is a big bulbous thing, whereas the Ultegra and Dura Ace look much smaller and neater, if that bothers you. They also work faster, but you won't notice that unless bench testing and specifically looking for it
- 105 cassettes are absolutely fine and work just as well as all the others, as long as you don't want 11-30. And if you wanted 11-36, you need 105. And all work with all, whatever Shimano says
And IMO these things Shimano have fallen behind aftermarket parts here:
- Cranksets. Shimano chainrings are lovely things and the front shifting is super slick, but it should not be possible to save c200g off a top of the range Dura Ace crankset with an aftermarket unit. I changed my Ultegra for a Leese when I moved to 165 cranks, keeping the original rings, which is a good compromise
- Rotors. I know some people swear by Ice Tech but I can't get on with anything above 105 level, the CL800/900s just seem to go out of true far too quickly for my liking
So if it were me... I would buy a 105 groupset, change the shifters for Ultegra, swap the jockey rings out of the 105 mech for Ultegra. And if at some point you want to save weight you can buy a carbon crankset and monoblock Spedao / Goldix cassette, and you'll end up with something lighter than Ultegra anyway.

Once you start replacing parts on the 105 groupset you quickly approach the Ultegra price. I would probably just get the Ultegra in the first place without the cranks. I paid about 800e on Aliexpress.
Also remember Ultegra has hyperglide+ 105 does not.
On my gravel bike I replaced the Ultegra front mech with GRX one (which is 105 basically) and it feels like a huge downgrade. It's slow and noisy and feels like 11s tech, which it is. I'm going back to Ultegra and try to space it out for more tire clearance.
Unless of course you need the 11-36 cassette then 105 is the only choice. And I wouldn't ruin the great di2 12s shifting with aftermarket cassette but that's just me.

I have di2 2x11 Ultegra, Di2 2x12 Ultegra and Di2 2x12 105
The 105 front derailleur is basically the derailleur from the 2x11. It works the same way, it is set up the same way. It is slightly slower than the 2x12 Ultegra derailleur, that's absolutely correct.
Unless you don't have both you won't even mention.
And another thought: there are some reports about very early mechanic failures (around 2 years of use)in the 2x12 Ultegra / DuraAce derailleur.
The 2x11 seems to be more robust. The downsizing probably comes with a prize
From my side, the Di2 105 is the best value for money if you want to use Shimano electronic shift. If you can live without the extra buttons and the missing option of tria shifters.... there's nothing missing in the package. Functionality is amazing good.

So... there are 2 Di2 105 in my equipment...
I exchanged the chainrings on one bike- i compared all single parts of the crankset and the only reason why the 105 crank is more heavy than the ultegra is the large chainring.
I bought nice Ryet.. they haven't been that cheap , yes. But the bike was delivered with 52/36 , which I wanted to exchange anyway to 50/34.
On my daily commuter Gravel I bought a groupset and exchanged from 2x11 Ultegra to the 105 Di2 ... I didn't even mount the crankset as I wanted to keep the FSA 46/30 supercompact.
Other than that I was also riding a 2x11 105 crankset ... there's nothing bad to say. Only again: the Ultegra and DuraAce cranksets from that production time may be faulty due to glueing process, the 105 is not affected (forged which is slightly heavier)
If the weight adder doesn't scare you,I wouldn't exchange parts, at some point it is really cheaper then to go directly with ultegra. However for some people the 105 is kind of a "mental issue" .... so in their eyes I downgraded my commuter from Ultegra (mechanic) to the Di2 105... honestly.. this was a massive upgrade, I just repeated what some people think.

He will mark the value low if you ask for less taxes. With a 50€ coupon it should end up about 850e now. Of course 105 on Aliexpress is even cheaper, but don't expect great warranty support.
