Hi.
I built an SP Cycle R088 last September, and another one for my wife during Christmas.
I love my bike and has approx. 2.000km on it so far without any major issues.
I have actually had more problems with my store bought bikes from Ridley.
Today, I discovered the new R098 from Sp Cycle.
Does anyone have any knowledge to the differences?
I might be off, but the geometry seems similar and the weight is similar.

Thinking of buying another frame or two this spring.

Looks like a V5RS clone to me. Also those handlebars are very similar to Colnago CC.01. :o

It would be a poor copy of the Y5RS as its pretty easy to spot the differences, beyond the paintjob.

Would love to try this one lol. I would've bought this one instead of Adapt B02 if this was released earlier.

Yes, aesthetically I don't mind it but B02 is definitely more well-tested and reliable

What differentiate Tantan / Spcycle and other sellers like Yohobike etc ?
Up until now, SP-Cycle's frame were no real copy of an original frame. For example, of course their G068/69 is quite like the Canyon Grail, but having round seattube, T47 instead of Pressfit. Their R065 was heavily inspired by the Canyon Aeroad but slightly different geometry..

Spcycle has some MTB frames that are more or less exact copies of well known models.
If anyone buys the R098, please let us know how it is.

Yeah join the dots, the x68 got removed from the tantan website aswell.

They were supposed to list the frame on AE on April but after a small conversation, they told me that would not list it on AE and won't sell the frame.

Those companies would do better just making original stuff anyway.

I liked the look of this frame. Something about thin, high seatstays that aren't quite connected to the top tube does it for me. Like the Canyon Ultimate CF SLX look. Anyone know other frames that look like that? Even better if it uses a 27.2mm seatpost.

To be honest, I'm super happy that some Chinese OEM is finally getting rid of the stupid mechanical FD exit.
It makes no sense as integrated cable routing almost kills mechanical shifting.
Unfortunately they really copied everything from V5RS. They can definitely change the BB to T47 86.5 (although a lot of people will hate that), which gives a wider base and enlarge tire clearance to 35mm (it can be done with BSA, but easier with wider BB).
Or better, get rid of the stupid water drop seatpost and go traditional 27.2mm round one, and Colnago will definitely find no way to sue them.

Cheap, 27.2mm round seatpost, BSA, 32mm tire clearance, as light as V5RS, just uncommon 49mm upper headset bearing.
And you can be the first to post the review here. :)
But I guess VOOK won't go bankrupt anytime soon, so I guess you should still be able to get replacement bearings for a while.
