2 months of 2026 went by and no new FS frame release from any usual suspect.
I'm looking for a new XC FS frame. I'm eyeing VoiceVelo Chorus and LightCarbon LCFS980. Both of them were release at least 2 years ago. I'm afraid they are planning to release new frames and I don't want to buy end of line products. My own experience: I bought a Tantan FM025 frame near the end of 2024 and 1 weeks after my order they released an new SL8 clone frame :D
Have you heard any rumor about new frame release in 2026 from your own channels or Chinese speaking forums?

Yes it seems they slowed down XC frames manufacturing, in favor of gravel. I still run an FM936 in 120/120 config and it is still up to date as geometry, cables are not integrated lucky me
Nowadays I would go for the 980 from LCS I like it a lot and their reputation is good
-
I was at the same point. Went with the spcycle 868 - its the most up to date frame. 2nd generation. with plenty good feedback here and on german mtb forums.
internal storage is stupid. thats the only thing missing as fas as features. and maybe a bit slacker head angle.

I also like it but what i don't like is to buy clones, the hongfu 358 is also nice and has the storage as well, but it's a clone too, so few options for me.

can you explain clones versus copy versus original, open/ closed mold etc....? im still hazy in the chinertown world..
( would like to rplace my old Kona carbon hardtail with new school geo carbon HT !)

I think that a new LightCarbon LCFS980 is coming:

A clone is a clone of a major brand frame e.g. SPcycle M868 it's a perfect copy of the Orbea OIZ, HONGFU 358 is a clone of canyon lux trail. Open molds, all of them are open to be purchased by a bike manufacturer but as you can imagine you wouldn't launch an orbea clone in the market to avoid being sued, therefore you can ask Lightcarbon to make 1000 pieces of theirs LC918 or LC919 which are not a clone but an open mold where multiple bike brands can buy it and make good enough XC bikes. The same does Carbonda, mine FM936 it's not a clone but an original project made with NS bikes, hence you can buy it but also NS bikes and other brands offer the same frame on their bikes. Hope this clarifies but for sure a more detailed update could come from other forum veterans ;D ;D

That’s a great looking frame. Are you sure it’s from LightCarbon? I didn’t know they produced for Trinx
-
Trinx racing team has previosly used open mould frames like the Lexon Rio https://chinertown.com/index.php?topic=3316.0
So i would guess this frame is an open mould aswell.

And the Trinx team used the Lightcarbon LCFS980 in 2024 https://www.pianetamountainbike.it/tecnica/69799-mountain-bike-dei-team-2024/70706-bike-check-il-prototipo-trinx-factory-team-di-olivia-onesti
