Title: Can anyone suggest a good carbon gravel bar?
Post by: Strappacatena on March 08, 2026, 07:39:55 AM
Hey guys, any recommendations for a solid carbon gravel bar? I'm not worried about internal cable routing

This one is my favorite. I especially like that it comes in 34cm width, though it comes in wider sizes if you prefer.  ;)

Now I'm testing it. What I found to have good braking in drops the shifters have to be very low (mover forward) so I can reach the levers (GRX 820). Therefore the handlebar has to be rised towards me. Next season I will look for something else, I think.
But whatsoever the drop at 80mm is fantastic.

I've tried several Aliexpress carbon gravel bars but I couldn't recommend them due to the shape not comfy. My go to options are Ritchey Beacon WCS Bars (using 7075 Aluminum and is not that much heavier than carbon) and Salsa Cowchipper carbon bars. somehow the bend shape is a lot more comfy. I guess the folks at Ritchey and Salsa did spend a lot of time studying ergonomics.

I’ve been using this one https://it.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-gravel-bar-carbon.html (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3tjEtMP) for about a year now and I’m really happy with it. I haven't tried many others to compare, but it seems like a great option regardless.

I like those bars as well, but they're a pain if routing mechanical. The holes are very narrow.

Using a tool like this one https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005005854072305.html (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c4Bm1Aej), it was a bit of a struggle, but I managed to get it done.

Even easier if you just run an electronic groupset.  ;)

You're right, routing the cables was pretty tough, but it looks great in the end. After all, you only have to run the cables once or twice in the bike's lifetime.
I disagree. The life cycle of my bikes is longer than the service intervalls for the headsets. With full integration, headset service or replacing is a PITA.
