Title: Handlebars for clip-on aerobars narrower than 50cm
Post by: Kamool on April 12, 2026, 02:08:51 PM
Hello,

I'm running Toseek RS-WRC handlebars in 400mm width (533mm C-C at the drops). I would like to participate in the Ironman event, but it prohibits bikes wider than 50cm.
So now I'm looking for a handlebar narrower than 50cm (maybe 12deg flare 400mm) with about 100-110mm clamping zone (I used to run 98mm between clip-on aerobars outer mount surfaces, but I would like to go a bit wider). I don't want internal routing - something like the RS-WRC way or cable routing works for me.
Any recommendations? Or just go alloy like Ritchey RL1 Baquiano (no cable slots)?

It's hard to find info on the width of the clamping area, but it looks like this one could work: https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ez0YxKs

Or maybe this: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIL3FYy

You could try this one https://it.aliexpress.com/item/4000334441789.html (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c2uAUNBF)

How is that supposed to work? That is an integrated handlebar with a non-round profile.

It seems like it might work, I've send seller a question about clamping width. I'm not sure about RXL-SL, I've heard these likes to break.

This one might actually offer more space for that https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005009817783746.html

This looks like it could be a counterfeit Easton bar, watch out.

Another possibility to use clip ons with aero bars might be these clip on adapters, which are meant to go on the oval part of the bars: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EGQD8QM

I also found a drop bar with built in aero bar mounts, similar to a TT cockpit: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EQMorIu

Did you get more info about clamping width and/or about the quality of rxl-sl bars?

i would buy alu 36cm round bars (if not 34) and clamp on bars. You reduce frontal area using narrow bars you're not supposed to use during the event, and you get cheap extensions with all the adjustment available from a non proprietary system, for cheap.
OEM carbon aero bars with extensions are still extremely niche, or the base bar is wide which defeats the purpose.
