Title: Worst expérience ever with CSC AliExpress - Avoid
Post by: Stef2010 on May 05, 2026, 12:45:56 AM
Hello !

I purchased CSC 32mm inner width and 50mm depth wheels for gravel bikes last January.

The order and delivery went smoothly.

My first ride was perfect.

After a long ride (600 km in Spain), a strange noise started coming from the rear.

Returning from this ride, I went away for a weekend with friends, and the ratchet system broke (several teeth popped out).

Upon my return, I ordered a new ratchet system, but it was impossible to install; the hub was also broken.

I contacted the seller, who offered little to no help (a 5% discount).

They stopped responding to my messages.

In conclusion: the wheelset cost €400, but in my case, they only lasted 700 km... that's €0.50 per km ;)

I strongly advise against using this seller.

Stef

Have you tried contacting AliExpress (not the seller) for a warranty claim?

On the bottom of AliExpress.com --> "information for EU customers". You'll find links and email addresses that you can use to contact AE support.

I haven't needed to do it myself, but I'm very curious in how far you can claim the 2 year warranty that the EU requires shops to provide. As you have a clear issue that you can demonstrate with photos and videos, you should have a good shot at getting a real warranty return.

Indeed. New user, 1 message, makes a claim with no evidence.
We need to see pictures. Until then, this is highly suspect.

Oh wow!

Similar thing happened with me they did send replacement parts but my hub seems to be intact. Will confirm, once the new parts arrive .

I just posted in another CSC thread on here.

The ratchet failed on a ride recently.

I’ve decided to order a different set of ratchets as a precaution assuming their hub supplier has a bad batch so wanting to avoid a repeat.

I got a ratchet skipping on some mtb elitewheels, it worked for 5-6 rides, no visual damage. I replaced it with a 36t dt swiss ratchet I had hanging around at home. Working well so far after 2 years.
