Title: Mondince FM366 aero gravel bike with 57mm of tire clearance
Post by: AngryBear on May 28, 2026, 12:28:29 PM
Jack does it again. They are cranking out new designs. He just sent me a video of their new aero gravel frame with 57mm of tire clearance. He said it will be available in 10 days and is going to send me the geo a little later. When he does, I'll post it.

I asked him whether we may get FM316 geo frame with 55+ clearance and the answer was clear no :(
Too bad as I really wanted the new geometry but did not want to compromise on the clearance.

Also got this from Jack, not sure what’s happening with the reach numbers though, he wanted to check in with the designers.

I’ve been debating for ages which frame I should go with. I kept wavering between the GR201 and the FM336. The geometry on the FM336 is perfect—aside from the tire clearance. But the FM366 combines the best of both worlds. I’m curious to see when it will become available.

yes. that was my thought too. in size 540 the reach could be a bit to short.

And it seems that it have also  the  Flip Chip (50/55mm Rake) in the front like the FM326 has.
I like that frame very much so far. Will be intresting about the correct reach. could be around 2cm longer I think.

I’m between 356 and the 366, but yeah for a aero gravel the reach is even shorter than 356 which is the adventure / more upright frame. I assume the numbers aren’t correct. If they are a little longer than 356 I’ll probably go for this though. 😄

Those might be the shortest reaches I've ever seen for a drop bar bike. Definitely not a bike for the masses

The frame in the videos is a 540 frameset as Jack wrote me.
Does the toptube looks short in comparison to the rest of the frame? I think so. What do you guys think about it?

For what it’s worth, I’ve got a 296 and 336. I love the 296 so far.

Absolutely atrocious geometry compared to the inspired FM316. If only it had the tyre clearance, it would be the perfect gravel bike...

I just reached out to TanTan because they postetd two frames with 57mm tyre clearence, which were identical to those here. But they wrote me that their frame will be different to the FM366. But they wont send me the geochart for theirs.

Geometry chart that was posted last page is actually what the frame is supposed to look like. At least that what the designers said that got back to whoever is doing the communications via WhatsApp. No clue for what kind of rider this is designed with reach numbers like this. Guess not for me lol. 😅

For my M size, I'd need a 130mm or 140mm stem, depending on the handlebar reach! ???

Taken from the frame description that product page:

Quote
The geometry is purpose-built for adventure: a sloping top tube (B) and extended reach (M) provide a stable, confident riding position, ...

Extended reach?!?  ??? ??? ???

Eventually, someone at Mondince will wake up and realize that increasing reach by 1mm for sizes XS through L wasn't what they intended to do. (Okay, technically the increase is 2mm for size L.)

The geometry chart is clearly wrong but for whatever reason they insisted on publishing it anyways.
(Reach size XS / S / M / L: 363 / 364 / 365 / 367mm)
Title: Re: Mondince FM366 aero gravel bike with 57mm of tire clearance
Post by: wintermute on June 15, 2026, 02:39:15 AM
I just can't get my head around those geometry charts. Obviously, the geometry is wrong and that isn't the reach. But I don't think they understand how important getting that right is. I mean the XMCS aero gravel bike must fit more than a 44t front ring but that's what everyone thinks right now and that will have cost them hundreds of preorders.

There is so much good coming from OEMs in china but these things really demonstrate that the market just isn't mature and you still need to be a really canny buyer to make the most of it. Sometimes they strike gold e.g. the GR201 (of many sorts).

Sometimes they don't know what shape a bike should be.

I'm coming back to check the forum almost daily to see if one of the new 57mm tire clearance frames has an updated geometry chart because part of me apparently refuses to accept that the geometry charts are correct. Uber short reach here, super high BB there,... they all seem to have a flaw at least for what I (and I'd say the majority of riders) am looking for. The only ones so far that get close are the XMCS aero gravel (but front chainring clearance is a concern and price is more than I'd expect for a factory direct chinese frame, even if more premium) and the SP cycle G028 (but it's SP cycles and QC concerns are real ((look at that fork that was posted on that thread)).

I'm starting to believe that I'm the problem here.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it does have an AERO SEATPOST right?

Not the round 27.2
So in that regard it is different from SPCYCLE’s 57mm tire clearance Gravel frame, right?

Also the « wind eye » thingy but anyway at 1050g claimed and with edgy aero features, it might be the sexiest 57mm tire clearance Gravel frame out there

From the product specs on their product webpage:

Quote
Seatpost: D Type, 7*7mm/7*9mm Compatiable

So, yeah, the seatpost is supposed to have an aero, D shape profile and it's not a round 27,2mm regular one.

This frame looks good, but those Reach numbers are really awkward...  :-\

a couple notes:
1. needs updated geo chart lmao
2. needs specs for chainring clearance with 47.5mm chainlines
3. all of the photos look like they have no bottle cage/rack bolts drilled - they absolutely need some top tube bag bolts here

what plausible measurements they have there are fine (bb drop etc) but the reach numbers are just physically impossible for the bike sizing, the numbers on the the geo chart are simply incorrect
Title: Re: Mondince FM366 aero gravel bike with 57mm of tire clearance

I'd want something in the range of
XS 470
Small 480
Medium 490
Large 500

Etc.

That probably allows more casual riders to size down and still keep sufficient stack, for some people to run shorter stems if they prefer that handling, and for people to get high and forwards if they want to race it.

I have ordered a Cima GR but I'm waiting for these three new cheap 57mm frames to mature to order a new frame for my girlfriend's bike. The SPCycle had the better geometry of the two out before this

This is more like it!

But this begs the question, since the frame already had a mold and there are pictures of a finished one, does this mean that it was just the old geo chart that was wrong and the frame had the geo figures from this new chart, or does that frame feature the strange geo from the 1st chart???

the old geo chart plainly didn't reflect reality, the top tube and seatpost angle numbers just obviously didn't add up to produce the listed reach

Might be, I was told regardless that they'll have to make a new mould. Seems like they also have an integrated handlebar with rise.

This is their normal integrated gravel cockpit. Hopefully getting some info later about the other one.

The early geometries didn't make any sense for me. But now I regret ordering the spcycle g028 recently.
Maybe I should order a fm366 as well and choose the one with better manufacturing quality.

Thanks! It is too wide. For an AERO GRAVEL HANDLEBARS we need it to start at 36cm in the tops.
And then it flares down to 40-42

Hopefully the new riser one you mention has narrower options.

No I don't have a link, guess you gotta contact them directly via. email / whatsapp. Those that I posted seem to be 75 euro. The riser bar is still in testing. Hope to get some info there soon since I'll probably take fm366 over 356 then.  :D

FM366 isn't listed on the website anymore. You can still find it when using the search function but the page doesn't exist when you click on it. Anyone knows what's up? Have they decided not to release it?

Edit: Got the answer myself from them: „ Yes, we did not list for now. We will release when we have stock in two months“

Definitely looking forward to seeing these. Looks like a nice combo of some the aero qualities of the FM316 with the tire clearance of the 346. And, kind of splitting the difference re: geometry.

Killer!! Can you ask about the handlebars ? That’s the one thing holding me back. I hope they’ll release the riser bars starting at 36cm.

Also: « MAX 57MM Tire, 6MM TIRE CLEARANCE » meaning 60c tires should fit

I will add that for EU it's 750 Eur with shipping included.
Photos in the current listing are of the frame "before the geometry change, but the same shape'.
Max 46t chainring.

Just to confirm, regarding shipping to Europe, it's that usual "DPD delivery", without any extra duties and fees, right?

That's right. The exact quote: "Euro750 for frame, fork, seatpost, axles, headset, bag, painting cost and DPD shipping cost which include the tax"

I asked about the handlebar, but the answer was vague. From what I understand there won't be a new one for this frame, but they do have a generic one someone had posted before. Either way, "You can use other handlebar":)

They have their standard handlebar. It is delivered with spacers etc. I'm attaching data sheet provided by Jack.

I'd like to ask for advice - how paying to Mondince via PayPal looks?

How much forward offset do the STs on these frames have?

Trying to figure out the effective STA.

This Mondince FM366 checked all the boxes for me, except for the seatpost. I need to put a dropper post.

Here is FM366 in size M with 2.25" tyres. Would probably fit 2.35" by the looks of it. I got photos today and Mondince confirmed it's a frame built on a "new" geo.
But am I being crazy or something about the frame looks off? It might be a visual illusion because of chimney worth of spacers, a paint choice, or just chunky tyres, but to me it looks short, tall and too front heavy.
It's most likely just me being too undecisive about the frameset I want, but I'd love to hear opinions from more established gravel enjoyers.

Did some AI "editing". I guess it does look better with less spacers and in a different paint scheme?..

EDIT

It is NOT actually a new geo.

It indeed looks tall and short. I guess that's a prototype from the old geo. The new geo is clearly longer.

It's a frame built on a new geo confirmed to me today by Mondince through Whatsapp. I also thought it might be prototype frame when I saw the pictures, but it seems not. It should look longer, right?
I updated my earlier post to include info about the geo.

Do you have a link to these bikes or frame sets?

Intersting. I've tried some image measuring tools, and I get somewhat close numbers to the new geometry (although I wouldn't call my quick method very precise  ;D), so I guess my eyes were deceiving me.

After a few more messages with Mondince trying to clarify what's up with that frame, it seems that your eyes are fine and it is NOT actually a new geo frame, quote: "It is the old geometry. But the frame is the same shape", even though a few messages back they have just said that "This is the new geometry"  :D
It's beyond me why would they even send photos of the prototype frame at this point and add to the confusion. I guess some things just get lost in translation or I am just not used dealing with Chinese vendors.
They said size M is already made so I'm trying to get the actual photos.

Have a look at how the handlebar "behaves" in this photo, it was done on x1 from the close distance, prefferably, you take photos of a bike from as far away as your optical zoom allows. This gives you a "flatter looking" bike.
In this case it looks like it is 500 or even 600 width handlebar.

I'll also add - I did a preorder, custom paint, lead time is 18 days. It's waiting time then.

I'd love to order this frame but I'm going to let someone else be a guinea pig for me. The inconsistencies re: geometry are quite worrisome.

I'm interested to see this one build up read about some first hand experience in quality and riding characteristics. The photo's from Mondince are not really helping them..

I'm also on the same boat, as I'm considering this frame among other 57mm tire gravel frames for my next build, but I need to see pictures of the final geo frame, mainly of a complete bike with it... :-\

I've asked Jack to send me some proper footage of the frame. The geometry stuff is now sorted, and the one on the website is the final one.

I think this video makes me almost sure about to place an order - looks bloody good IMHO.

Trying to figure out the effective STA.

Does the offset matter when the angle is measured from the bb. The real angle of the seat tube must be even less steep. I considered this frame but it looks a bit too slack. Unless it's measured in some different way.

The frame looks great in that video, thanks for sharing! I’m hoping to get my "pre-shipping" video soon as well — mine was supposed to be sent out last week.

Looking at the specs, the geometry is actually surprisingly slack. That works perfectly for my setup, but it’s pretty funny that it’s marketed as an aero frame, which usually implies a much more aggressive, racey fit.

Edit: Just a quick heads-up from Jack for anyone interested: the downtube storage cover is 100% anodized aluminum. I was fully expecting plastic here, so it was a really pleasant surprise!

Is meanwhile clear what the max chainring size will be?

Looks really great!! Now if only there were a few VISIBLE options for the integrated handlebars. No info about them at all on their website.
