Title: Seaboard revisited
Post by: ddarabont on June 12, 2026, 04:22:53 AM
I understand that there was a topic called 'Seaboard' here, and Stravakiddo asked about experiences with the frame. Well, I think I have some to share.
I watched Trace Velo's bike build video on Youtube, and was just stunned, and decided to add a steel bike to my collection. So I went on a search, identified the manufacturer (Tsunami bicycle), found their web site, looked around, it looked legit, and placed and order for a Tsunami Weapon CR01 (https://tsunamibicycle.com/product/cr01-road-frameset-700c-rim-brake-steel-polish/). The shipping time was just a wee bit longer than promised, then the frameset arrived and it was just magnificently gorgeus.
But...
But it turned out that it is seriously defective. The left seatstay is several mm's shorter than the right one, making the correct alignment of the rear wheel totally impossible. Immediately, I sent the company a letter of complaint describing the problem and demanding a full refund or replacement of the faulty product. No reaction. Not even an automated reply confiriming the receipt of my correspondence. I forwarded the message to all the email accounts that I could find on their website, and used their online Contact us form. I have been sending them email for more than two weeks now, and still no reaction.
OK, it's a cheap frame, What could you possibly expect for that kind of money? But the frameset is SO sexy, and the welding looks rather impressive as well. It looks a reputable company. How can they afford to have customer service like that?
Has anyone ever come across anything like that? What do you suggest I do? I'm totally helpless.
P.S. It's not the money that grieves me, but I dread to order a different frameset with after sale service like that. Suggestions? Comments? Remarks?

:oCurious how the Tsunami CR01 rides compared to what you expected from the Trace Velo build. The geometry on those frames tends toward the endurance side of things, which works well for long days but can feel a touch lazy if you're used to tighter road handling.

Thats rough. Seaboard is usually pretty dependable.  I'd do a credit card chargeback or a claim with paypal if I were you.

You bought it through their website? Might as well initiate a chargeback then.
It's funny because gmail, instagram, facebook, and whatsapp are all technically blocked in China, and there's been a VPN crackdown this year too.
Maybe you can try ordering through a dealer if one is listed in your country, if the price difference isn't too high.
