Title: Ultra lightweight 29er XC hardtail frame options?
Post by: RiP on June 16, 2026, 06:43:32 AM
Hi,

I'm building a lightweight XC 29er hardtail and the target is a ready to ride bike with 7,5kg (with Assioma PM pedals, Dubnital 2.4 tires, botle cages, etc).

I already have all the components for this build, except for the frame. I'm currently considering the upcoming SPcycle M038 (https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,7258.0.html), which is supposed to be available to order in early July at 550~580 usd, with a really low claimed weight of 830g +/-20g (Size M,unpainted). So, given the spec, highest weight would be 850g for an M size (my size), obviously unpainted, as I want it.

I can't find any other frame at this weight and price (both uncertain yet), but if anyone knows other options with a similar or even lower weight, please share!  8)

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing.

I've seen that frame at many sellers, it's the Specialized Epic HT clone, but the weight for the L size samples I've seen were always above 1kg. That is a great weight for an M size, though, and the price is great.

It's an "old" geo frame (short reach, steep HA), so I'll need an L size, instead of the M size I can use in more modern geo frames....
