Title: Carbonda fm-909 and Syncros Fraser ic sl dc
Post by: SimKo on July 09, 2026, 12:06:57 PM
Hello everyone,
I am the proud owner of a Carbonda 909 and also have a Syncros Fraser ic sl dc handlebar. I’d like to fit this to my bike. I ordered the original Carbonda headset as well, but the dust cap is round and protrudes quite a lot.
As I don’t want to route the gear and brake cables through the headset, I’d like to use the original, elongated spacers from Syncros (for example like these ones here:  https://r2-bike.com/SCOTT-Aheadkappe-und-Spacer-Kit-fuer-Syncros-Fraser-iC-Lenker-Vorbau-Einheit (https://r2-bike.com/SCOTT-Aheadkappe-und-Spacer-Kit-fuer-Syncros-Fraser-iC-Lenker-Vorbau-Einheit))
Has anyone set this up like this before? Which dust cap did you use?
Best regards,
Simon

Hi there.

I'm still struggling with my syncros fraser project:

Did you place anything below the acros top cap? I've used the original headset that came from carbonda. So I pced the bearings and then inserted the expander. Finally there was this slim metal ring where I wasn't sure if it's some kind of spacer, so I placed it on top of the expander. Now I'm not sure if the top cap ist high enough (above the frame) so it can move freely once the headset applies its pressure?

I would be glad if you could help me once again.

Thx Simon

I have one washer on top of the expander and below the Acros cap, however afaik there are different expanders provided by Carbonda and I have the „better“ one (if your frame is newer than 2 years you also should have the better one)

Thx again.
I've already ordered some 0,25 mm shims und hopefully that will do the trick.
