Title: SRAM AXS RD with Shimano HG Chain and cassette

Hello everyone,

I am currently building my first bike (Lightcarbon LCR-018D) which will be used for training rides and some Triathlons.

I went with the SRAM system for the wireless blips and much cheaper used parts, the only thing missing now is the cassette and chain.

FD, RD and front chainring are all SRAM Force D2

For the cassette and chain I am thinking about going for a Rival chain and cassette, but that would require a new free hub for my serenade wheelset or getting a kmc or ynb chain and some aliexpress HG cassette. The KMC/YNB chain would have less friction according to zerofriction cycling

Do any of you use aliexpress cassettes and aftermarket chains on your Sram AXS system and would you recommend it or do you stay with flattop chains and SRAM cassettes?

i've stuck with SRAM chains and cassettes so far

This will work with HG-compatible chainrings (tested and tried). I suppose with HG-compatible jockeys one may achieve flawless perfomance.

My gravel bike has a SRAM X01 rd shifting a Deore XT cassette (10-51) and chain and my road bike has a Force XPLR rd with a Deore XT 10-45 cassette and chain.  Works much better than the SRAM cassette/chain combos ever did.
