Title: Propriatary aero post woes & a reminder it's never the BB (unless it is...)
Post by: Cowhole_69 on October 25, 2026, 08:31:40 PM
Was chasing a creak, went through the usual troubleshooting and checking all torque points / greasing up etc and even swapped out a spare crankset and the creak was still there!

Pulled the saddle inspected it and greased it look fine.

Then one night in the right light/angle I noticed a crack in the seat post saddle mount insert.

My only saving grace was that the BB had to come out at one stage anyway as I had a loose rivet head bouncing around that refused to fall out of the seat post opening.

Now the fun of trying to get a replacement... Polygon already told me they aren't able to help and to contact the store who haven't replied to me in almost a week.

Good luck. I have heard of a tribe that chooses to cycle without the saddle, only the seat post. But it's quite a lifestyle, I would rather get a replacement and keep using a saddle.
