Hi everyone! I'm new here, from France, and this forum has been a goldmine for me. I'm 187 cm and thinking about building a gravel bike around the LightCarbon LCG072-D or sp cycle g029 , but I'm hesitating on the size (L or XL), and I'm open to other frame suggestions too. If anyone has photos of a complete build, I'd love to see them! What should I check before ordering (geometry, QC, customs)?
I'm also looking for an indoor trainer for the winter, and a few clothes, shoes and gear from China since my budget is tight. Any reliable sellers or brands you'd recommend? Thanks a lot! :)
Do you have an existing bike that fits you well? If so, one of the best ways is to compare the geometry of your current frame to new frames/sizes on a site like Bikeinsights. It is probably worth reading up on how the different aspects of geometry affect fit, but generally you'd start by looking at and comparing stack and reach values.
To compare geometries I like bike-stats.de
For an indoor trainer, if I'd buy a new one I'd consider the jet black victory. or if you want to go really cheap, I'd probably look for a second hand wahoo, tacx or elite. otherwise check the gplama and dcrainmaker youtube channel.
for clothes check out the nero show youtube channel, they tested a few different jerseys and bibs.
as for shoes, I'd probably go for a last years model from a western brand that you can try on and send back if they don't fit, I think you probably spend less money than ordering shoes form aliexpress that in the end don't fit.
