Title: Help choosing bar and stem combo
Post by: gbevan on October 30, 2026, 10:36:50 AM
Hey guys, I'm looking into switching the integrated cockpit I got with my LightCarbon LCG071-D (420 mm wide, 90 mm stem) to a separate bar and stem. I'm leaning towards the bars from KOCEVLO since they have cable routing channels, and a stem from them as well, because of the clean transition to get the cables into the headtube. There are a few other stem options, like one from RIRO, and one from ZTTO, so I'm wondering if anyone's used any of them and has any advice as a result. Looks like the RIRO and KOCEVLO options include the upper bearing race which should guarantee a proper fit onto the upper headset bearing, but the ZTTO one doesn't seem to include that, and I'm not sure the bumps the first spacer will play nice with LC's provided upper bearing race.

Very open to suggestions for other bar and stem combos if I'm arguably barking up the wrong tree, but the goal is to find something that makes maintenance and component swapping relatively hassle-free while still keeping the front end somewhat aero. The stems listed above do also seem to be quite heavy, but I wouldn't say that's the end of the world.

If you want better and easy of use, why would you go separate bar / stem but still route cable on the inside of it all? I would suggest get a stem where the cables run under it, and then on the bottom of the bar (not inside) the bar. Still looks nice and clean and any maintenance or transport would be a breeze.

The bars I'm referring to are the ones with the groove underneath them for routing cables, not the fully internally routed option that the listing defaults to.
