Title: ThinkRider XXPRO Trainer
Post by: Chusto on November 07, 2026, 10:06:36 AM
I've been using this trainer for a year now, and I honestly couldn't be happier with it. I genuinely believe there's nothing else on the market that offers this level of performance for the price.

However, there is one thing missing that would make it perfect for me: the occasional random drops in cadence measurement.

In my case, there are always a few cadence drops that I just can't explain because they don't seem to follow any consistent pattern. For example, on this ride of almost 90 minutes, although the power measured by my Magene PES P515 (another fantastic purchase) is almost identical to the power reported by the trainer, there is still a 2 rpm difference in average cadence.

The reason is that the trainer occasionally records cadence values that are significantly lower than those reported by the Magene, as shown in the other graph.

I've attached a few files showing this behavior. If you'd like to have a look, simply upload them to:

https://compare-the-watts.com/

On the comparison charts, the line labeled "Rouvy" corresponds to the trainer data, while the other line corresponds to the Magene PES P515 data.

Let me know if you've experienced the same issue with your ThinkRider XXPRO.

Best regards.

I've experienced both cadence drops as well as the resistance suddenly spiking hard for a short moment

Cadence measuring on smart trainers is always a bit dodgy, unless the trainer has a direct way of measuring, which very few do.

If they don't, then the way they are working it out is based on an algorythm picking out spikes in your power. Its all fiendishly clever and it gets very close but it always needs to be considered an estimate.

I always find my Neo and the Elite direto gave me quite a low cadence - sometimes up to 10rpm lower than a direct measurement - so it is not a unique Thinkrider problem. Don't stress about it, its far more important that the power figure is right!

Power figure was fine but was about 5% too high compared to my P505
