Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets I just saw this version of the Ltwoo hydraulic shifters being sold with alloy shift levers? I didn't see these on the official Ltwoo AliEx store either:

Re: Are AliEx/open mold carbon bikes common in your area?
HA!  My main riding buddy has the top of the line $7k Look 765RS gravel bike.   He's an automotive mechanic by trade but can't figure out how to properly take care of his chain, despite my offers to do it/show him how.  We will be on a ride and I'll say something to the affect of "Do you wear your ear bud in the right ear because because your chain sounds like a couple of Transformers trying to screw or is it just a coincidence?"

The other day I was riding with my buddy who's an engineer by trade and was rolling on a Giant TCR Advanced. We noticed his cassette was rattling. It's not the most expensive bike, but it's still north of $4K USD and I was rolling on my "spare parts" 1x carbon endurance frame with $50 Sensah shifters and a $50 Goldix crankset. I asked him if he had tightened it properly, and he's like yeah I tightened it (he had a new wheelset). When we got back to my house to check on his cassette, he must have hand screwed the lock ring because that sucker just slid off the freehub!

On my occasional group rides there's always a few bikes that need serious tuning, chains that need to be wiped down and the easily preventable mechanical issues. I think this is why I like AliEx and open mold frames, it truly forces you to learn your bike, which I think makes you a better cyclist in the long run.

Re: Caved in and ordered a clearance Spcycle SP-027D Frameset
Oh man. Thats a pretty good deal on that frame. I'm tempted. I absolutely don't need it...but still.

The price was slightly lower since AliEx was running an event promotion earlier and I was able to apply my AliEx coins and an additional promo code to lower the price. I was looking at a few other frames, but I noticed a few sellers are now making you buy thru axles separately driving the cost up. Plus most newer Chinese carbon frames are going full internal cabling which would require an integrated handle bar purchase. I wanted a budget frame for a budget build!

Re: Newish ZEROING crankset - Ingrid clone The alloy axle cranksets I've been using are Shimano compatible. Though you still need to use the same pre load crank bolt provided with the crankset. No issues yet, but I do periodically check them.

Re: Groupset News I saw China Cycling's YT short and also noticed it on the pictures here. It looks like this ERX derailleur uses some sort of derailleur hanger similar to Shimano's shadow design. Does that mean this hanger will be used for both gravel & road with a fairly big cassette clearance?

Re: Groupset News Thanks for the info @StiffWeenies! Reading the comments in the media press release, it seems even the domestic cycling community want cheaper groupsets, but not necessarily cheaper quality. It's good to see a domestic push to improve as well while being price competitive.

Re: Groupset News This actually gives me more appreciation for LTwoo considering the pace of their development, but maybe they need to be less ambitious and make sure every product release is rock solid. Jumping straight into electronic groupsets without fully ironing out the kinks from their other product lines leaves a bad impression. For example, the carbon levers snapping on the hydraulic levers and/or not fixing the lack of drop shifting on the mechanical shifters should be fixed. What's the point of having all these product releases if they riddled with flaws?

Re: Groupset News LTwoo has an app already for use on their MTB wireless shift controller. It's called the "Blueprint Electric" app and it's available at least for Android, but I haven't checked yet for iOS. I'm guessing this will be the app they'll use or at least something similar.

BTW - This controller kit is very similar to the Archer Components RD controller:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Since AliExpress is running some deep discounts right now, I bought the LTwoo alloy hydraulic 2x11 groupset for $204 USD including tax+shipping. I figure the alloy shifters should be more durable than the carbon version and for the price, it's a good bargain. I'll most likely run it with Shimano derailleurs, but I ordered the FD/RD kit because the price was the same as the shifters+calipers only from another seller.

I might have purchased the last "no box" set, unless they re-stock:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Need to see more of this seller! hahaha thanks for a laugh. After reading reviews on many products I often wonder if some people should be buying parts online and working on bikes on their own.

It's true though. AliExpress isn't for the faint of heart. I actually don't recommend AliEx for most people. My cycling buddies try buying parts, but sometimes they're totally clueless on how to put stuff together.
