Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
Is there a listing for only hydraulic shifters? I tried and couldn't find one for hydros. There are plenty for mechanical/rim brakes though.

Not that I've seen. That's why I ordered the alloy groupset during the anniversary sale for almost $200 USD. Though I'm bummed it didn't come with the ZRace hydraulic calipers. 120g savings is like carrying a spare bike stem in your pocket! I'm not a hardcore weight weenie, but I don't like carrying pointless weight.

Re: Caved in and ordered a clearance Spcycle SP-027D Frameset
Do you have the link to your mudguard ? It looks neat.
Second question, is it effective ?  :)

I would still get full fenders if you regularly ride in wet weather. This mud guard is better for the occasional puddles after a heavy rain.

Re: Spcycle SP-027D Frameset I did some more tuning on the bike and overall I'm pretty happy with it. Running it 1x is just ridiculously fun. Even though it's an aero frame, I can really lay down the power on the hill climbs and it's just responsive. Building AliEx frames is definitely not for everyone, but for some darn reason it puts a smile on face!

On my weekend ride, I caught up to a S-Work Di2 Aethos rider with a good 1 minute hill climb lead by the summit. It's a nice bike, but I couldn't help think the money I saved (compared to the $12k Aethos) could easily be spent on a nice vacation or my kids' college tuition! Lol

Re: Ideal way to replace cables/hoses on full ICR frame? What I usually do when wanting to replace cabling is to run inner plastic cable housing following the path of your current ICR lines. That way you'll have a path to follow for the shift cables. The hydraulic hoses might pose an issue, so I'd start with the rear first, since the fork should be easier. My last hydraulic installation had spacious cable routing so it wasn't a big problem.

Even then, you'll probably hit a few snags that will require a barrage of profanities! Some frames are easier than others and I'm planning to do a similar conversion next week as well.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804954468515.html

I've recently ordered a few more RideNow TPU tubes from this seller and I feel like they've finally have matured the manufacturing process. They look and function much better than the first generation batches that came out. At this point, I can recommend these as the go-to budget TPU tubes if you're not in the mood to go tubeless on your road bike. Though I'm 100% pro tubeless for gravel tires!  ;D

Also a few tips I've developed while using these: I tend to lower my PSI than I would with latex and butyl. I ride them 5 to 10 PSI lower than my recommended weight for a more supple ride (they tend to ride harsh depending on tire) and I feel it helps minimize potential flats. I use a schrader valve adapter when airing theses tubes so the presta valve cores don't get damaged. Especially if you need to change a flat out in the field this will minimize any problems. Lastly I find glueless patches work best with TPU tubes. In fact if properly applied, you can use continue to use the patched tubes as normal (as long as they are single hole punctures and not snakebite double hole punctures).

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
They look great, do they all come with glueless patches now? Although I'm a little sad they replaced the metal pink caps with the generic black plastic ones... I must have 10 of these from old inner tubes already. I'm gonna pick up some gravel tubes (I run tubeless, they're just emergencies) and hopefully report back.

I'd just order a set of glueless patches from either AliExpress or from your local online dealer like Amazon. I find tears in TPU doesn't stretch so once properly patched they hold in place. I also miss the pink caps. I still use the pink ones because they're more visible if you drop them on the ground.

I was thinking of order some RideNow tubes for my gravel bike as well, but I still have a few wide profile latex tubes laying around that I carry in the saddle bag.

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
Isn't it possible to slacken the shifting tension by an adjuster bolt? I'm sure Trace Velo pointed that out on YT.

I found the screw and adjusted mine, still feels clanky versus clicky compared to the non-hydraulic LTwoo shifters. I'm beginning to think I should just sell my LTwoo hydraulic shifters. I'm actually pretty happy with my current Juin Tech F1 brake setup with 105 shifters for road.

Re: ZRace Disc Brakes
I have them (Onirii) still. They got better. I was planning to get the Juin tech to see if they make a difference but pad and rotor change worked for me. Tuning then is rather painful though compared to any other mechanical disc brakes.

So for now, I don't have plans to change them. I do have 105 and Ultegra hydro calipers sitting on the shelf but keeping the upgrade for later future.

Juin Techs are way easier to setup out the box, but once you get the BR-005 tuned they are pretty close. The one nice thing about Juin Tech's is the knob on the pad adjuster screw. I can tweak the calipers on the fly. For my gravel bike though and the terrain I ride in, hydraulic brakes are a must. I ride on some pretty narrow single track where people have fallen off cliff sides.

I'm beginning to think I'm becoming a better bike mechanic, because I'm always trying to figure out how to fix issues with cheap AliExpress parts! Lol

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
I decided to order the frameset + wheelset + handlebar, size 61cm for me + custom paint, I'll be building the bike with ultegra di2 12s I can't wait for it, I've DMed some guys on instagram that have already ridden the bike (Elves' insta repost their stories) and for now only positive things about the bike being really stiff, one guy said it felt way better than his Scott Addict. Found some videos of the Evo builds :

The paintjob and finishes look really nice so I can't wait to receive mine !

Those builds look super nice! What I find funny is that you'll find these bike build videos from SE Asia that use properly calibrated tools (one video was using a digital torque wrench for the BB) and select high end components to build up their Chinese bike frames. Then you'll see some half ass build videos from the UK, buying the crappiest parts from AliExpress and then proclaim the components, frames, etc. are cheap rubbish!

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets More variations of hydraulic LTwoo groupsets are starting to drop on AliExpress. Now there's GR7 1x10 hydraulics now available.

Though you can get GRX 400 shifters/calipers for not much more:

I really need a better side hobby instead of surfing AliExpress late at night! Lol
