Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Is it just me or is most of the stuff on Ali getting even more expensive the last few weeks/days? I have things in my basket thet have gone up 5-10% in just a short while...

if it keeps going up like this, most of the stuff will just get too pricy to buy on Ali and we will be back to buying locally...

They had pretty deep discounts during the Chinese holiday week and Black Friday. I think prices just tend to fluctuate, so if something seems to high, I'd just wait and see if the price drops or if any discount codes pop up.

Simply amazing.  My $15.49 USD all carbon, padded, 132 gram saddle arrived today.   Appears to be of good quality.   (I can't believe that for years, I purchased Sella Italia Flight series saddles for over $100 each.)    Can't wait to put it on one of my rides and test how it feels on the sit spots.

I have this padded saddle on all my bikes. For the price and weight it's an excellent value. So far they've all been holding up with no issue.

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
Have you seen this video regarding the issues with shimano derailleur and aftermarket casettes? Maybe it is not the problem of the casette after all, but a change in Shimano designs to be compatible with no one else hahahhaa

I'm not entirely convinced with Trace Velo aka Luke's argument regarding aftermarket cassettes. I'm currently using 105 5800 11 speed shifters and R7000 RD + lightweight aftermarket 11-32t cassette. My setup shifts perfectly fine and that's also using an AliEx cheap OSPW cage. My belief is that shifting issues has more to do with the shifters themselves. Having used both Sensah Team Pro and LTwoo 11 speed Shimano compatible shifters, neither one can spot-on index like my current 105 and GRX shifters. I believe the shift tolerances are a bit more sloppy on aftermarket shifters. I think SRoad updated their road cassettes to shift a bit better as well.

Also I tend to prefer the shadow style RDs, I have a bad habit of dropping my bike on the drive side and the shadow design has saved my RD hanger from getting bent numerous times.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! There's the Risk compressionless brake housing kit. It comes with the cable rubber seals and a bunch of other stuff. It's cheaper compared to what Jagwire charges.

Risk has higher level brake/shift cables. This particular AliEx store sells a bunch of Risk branded items with free shipping. You can just combine all the small items as a single bulk order. Shipping will probably be slow, so I wouldn't order anything you'll need immediately.

Re: eeSilk Suspension stem on Aliexpress That stem also popped up on my AliEx feed. There's another seller with one just like it, but this one has branding on it:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! My Racework carbon crankset arrived. Props to the AliEx Racework Store. I ordered January 1st and it arrived January 7th, so it arrived exactly in 1 week. I'll install it tonight, but so far everything looks pretty good. I ordered it with a BB since it was only $6 USD more, but I plan to just keep it as a backup and use my current Ultegra BB. If it works well, I might consider ordering another one due to the prompt shipping and what appears to be decent quality.

Super interested in your thoughts after a couple rides on those cranks

I just installed Racework crankset, but won't be able to test them out until tomorrow. I would most definitely order the crankset with the BB even if you don't use it, because on my particular frame I had to use the supplied 3x BB spacers. When in the small chainring while on the small cassette cog, the chain kept rubbing against the ramping pins. When turning the crank it would try shifting into the big ring when hitting the pins. I installed 2 of the bottom bracket spacer on the drive side to alleviate the problem, but even then there's slight rubbing. I didn't feel comfortable running all 3 spacers on the drive side either because it looked like there was barely any space to thread into frame.

I compared the Racework chainring to my Shimano 105 and 2x GRX chainrings. The Shimano ramping pins are much more recessed. So I'm wondering if getting a different direct mount chainring might solve the issue? My other issue is that the pedal screw holes aren't at the same location as my Shimano cranks, so I wasn't able to install my crank rubber protectors. Not the biggest issue, but I would prefer to keep my crank arms protected especially since they're carbon.

Overall though shifting seems smooth and the weight savings is definitely noticeable.

Good looking! How much is the weight savings vs 105 crank?

My Shimano 105 R7000 50/34t 175mm crankset weighs in at 745g. The Racework crankset comes in at 543g. So it's about a 202g weight savings. It got my bike in the high 15 lbs. range or about 7.12kg for a mechanical disc road bike.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Now that I did some research apparently 2x spacers on the drive side and 1x spacer on the non-drive side seem standard for certain crankset setups. Anyways, I think the crankset looks pretty good. Lifting the bike it feels noticeably lighter. Plus the Ultegra SM-BBR60 threaded bottom bracket is only about 76g. I guess I'll ignore the minor ramping pin chain rub in the small/small combo, I rarely ever use that gearing anyways. I'm on the fence if I want to get this crankset for my 2x gravel bike though. That bike sees significant abuse when gravel riding and going fast isn't much a priority. I still need to test out the bike on a real ride.

FYI: Apparently these carbon cranksets will go on sale tomorrow. I'll definitely order another set!
