Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) Another build day, today was BB and cranks.
So, I confess to being somewhat @n@l when it comes to alignment, so the LCR017-D gets a treatment.

Tool probably costs more than the frameset

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) Yes, the tool is ridiculously expensive, and for this frame not really needed.
I'm picky. And a bit obsessed with optimization.  :)

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) If you dont know the site, play around with https://geometrygeeks.bike/. Will let you compare bikes' geometries, it's extremely helpful.
Height alone means very little. I'm 184 and i now ride medium frames because i have long legs (saddle height of c.81cm). I also have fairly long arms, so i can fit myself on large frames, but i have a short torso, so i'm actually more comfortable to push watts on a medium than a large, with fairly high stack because my saddle to bar drop is pretty extreme. If in doubt, always, always go smaller rather than larger. I just sold a giant propel in L that was always a tad too big for me. Tragic, because that bike was amazing. Had i bought a M/L i probably would not have upgraded.
If you ride on the flat a lot and are comfortable in aero positions, probably best to take a 0 offset post, will get you more vertical on the BB, a la TT bike.

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset I've tested EDGE, ENT, and DRIVE wheels. The ENT and EDGE differ mainly in weight, spokes, and rim profiles. I am not sure about the SLT and SLR. I will consider writing a comparison article about all these wheelsets. Anyway, the DRIVE wheels have carbon spokes and ceramic bearings.
Regarding ride feel, EDGE + ENT are pretty soft but comfortable. But for example, I didn't feel like riding 1350g wheels when riding EDGE. They are not as responsive as DRIVE ones, which are a bit lighter. The ENTs are much heavier and better for flats and steady efforts.
Having said that, I would recommend saving a bit more for DRIVE wheels. They are my go-to climbing wheels (45mm depth weighs under 1300g), and they are much more responsive than EDGE.
However, it also depends on your experience. For example, I would be happy if I was transitioning from ALU wheels to EDGE. But given that I've tried wheels costing over $1000 with carbon spokes, I'd opt for those instead.
Feel free to visit my website where you learn more details on these wheels.

Re: New frame: Longteng RD301-D I bought one black matte and one black gloss. I recommend the black gloss. Didn't entertain custom painting.
I bought airwolf bars via AliExpress because wanted 36cm width. Very happy with the bars. They're the T1000 or T1100 (allegedly) cockpit. Costs 75 EUR plus shipping so you will find it on AliExpress at around 100-120 EUR. From the airwolf store. Very stiff, look very nice. They also sell a carbon Garmin mount but these are standard sizing.

I designed and got car vinyl decals cut locally. To me the frame looks a lot like a Factor, so I hacked their font and in trolling Factor with tractor and facteur on either side. I've washed the bike many times now, those decals aren't going anywhere but they're reversible. Very happy with the format. It's fancy vinyl, forgot the name, any car nerd will know. It's outdoors resistant. Cost me a whopping ten euro to do the whole bike.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I installed the old design on 5 bikes, and i cracked one non drive side arm at 6 or 7nm. Racework is largely useless to deal with. They made so many mistakes in my order with them that i can't remember the exact count. Beyond the cranks, i bought 12s chains from them, they sent me 11s, the bar tape they sold me is the absolute worst i've ever used, and more. They refused to warranty anything, including the crank arm even though it was low torque (they dont tell you what torque to use, btw), but i managed to buy a replacement one for cheap enough - abnormal, but at least i still have 5 cranksets to use and not 4, for now anyway -.
We've put around 5k km on all these cranksets so far, i'd say. to avoid cracking more crank arms, i'm using 5nm and an obscene amount of threadlock. It's been working.
Either way they updated the non drive side design.
I wouldn't recommend them, goes without saying, but to be fair, i'm happy with the cranksets as long as it's not broken - kind of like i'm happy with my ltwoo er9 when it's not broken, the problem being that out of 5, 2 broke for no reason -, and their 3d printed saddles are nice too.

Re: Yuanan Carbon fiber wheelsets Year end discount promotion Thank you very much for your enthusiastic and practical suggestions. I will study your suggestions and provide feedback to our factory. Let’s look forward to the new lighter, wider inside and outside, dual ratcheting system, and deeper mixed-depth road/gravel carbon wheelset.

Re: What are some of the unanimously loved frames? For me the lightweight/aero VeloBuild VB-R-268 paired with Magene EXAR Ultra wheels has been awesome so far.
