Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 Posting a reply we just published in the dedicated thread below in case any miss it.

I have finally found an easy yet permanent fix for the headset play issue when using the separate handlebar/stem combo. Please bare with me as I'll do my best to be clear and concise. You do not need an FSA ACR setup, nor disconnect any hydraulic or shift cables.

Thank you Patliean1 for all the troubleshooting and your detailed assessment.

We have been working on resolving the headset play issue some customers with the separate bar/stem combo have experienced and are happy to announce that the issue has been resolved by increasing the thickness of the C shaped bearing press by 0.5mm.

All shipments since April have been sent with the new bearing press and we have also sent it to existing customers that have been affected and it has resolved their issues.

If you have the separate handlebar/stem and are experiencing this issue please contact us for a new C shaped bearing press by email at info@velobuild.com

New customer orders of the separate handlebar/stem will also include split spacers.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 So I finished my bike about 1 month ago. Very very happy with it. A step (leap?) forwards coming from a Cube Aerial. Very direct, responsive, easy to ride and reassuring. Just rides fast. I go about 3-4km faster with 15 BPM less heartrate in my case. Can't find anything my Cube did better.

Very happy with the end result! Picture was without bartape for easy last minute adjustment of the brake levers. Will take a picture of the driveside one day. But first I've got some KM's to shred! 8)

Re: BXT Road 115 (BXT-ROAD-115)
I am considering to get the BXT road 115 frameset from BXT official store on AliExpress.
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this frame or BXT product quality, sales and after sales service.

I was going for the velobuild press fit BB vb-r-177 but found the bxt-road-115 to be also very interesting and slightly cheaper (on sale now).
I prefer press fit BB but this comes with BSA BB. Which BB spec is better?

Any comments before I pull the trigger?

Thanks!

Hi, I've bought the BXT-ROAD-115 from BXT official store and I'm very satisfied.
The seller was very accommodating and always answered all my doubts.  Since Now I've traveled 1.300Km, and since now no issue.

I don't know which BB is better between Press Fit or BSA, in my case I've mounted a Shimano BSA, and it's seem good.

Attached my bike.

I'm curious, finally have you bought the BXT frame?

kind regards,
Luigi

Re: BXT Road 115 (BXT-ROAD-115)
Hi, congratulations on your BXT 115. Looks awesome!

I ended up going with the Vb-r-177 frame of which I had slipping seat post issues. I solved it but still not comfortable (i.e. having phobia it is gonna start slipping again when least expected).

I am still on the lookout for a circular clamped seat post bike that also has dropped seat stays and looks aero too like the Yishunbike R096-D.

I want that too! Dropped seatstays, preferably 27.2 post and half-ish aero like the Tarmac SL7

The SL7 Fact-r 12 is the dream bike, but 6000 USD for a frame is too much.

Sad thing with all the Chinese frames that quality control and weight is through the roof.

Re: TopCarbon TCGF066 gravel frame I've finished the build of the TopCarbon TCGF066 for a friend.
Thought I should leave my build report.
Over all my experience has been good, I ordered directly from topcarbon contact and purchase through Alibaba.
Had an issue with the lower headset bearing when assembling the fork, the bearing I purchased had to much chamfer on the top edge causing the fork to sit to high and bind with the headtube. Seller helped me out and sent the correct bearings with less chamfer.
Routing of the integrated handlebar with a mechanical/hydraulic groupset was the all headache you could expect.
I did make some attempts to use partial outers that ended in the block in the downtube but I couldn't figure out how to avoid the outers from separating from the downtube block when assembling the cockpit. I finally ended up doing full outers to the derailleurs.

Over all the fit and finish of the frame has been good, my head tube looked good with some light sanding marks and the fit of the (correct) bearing is good.
Have no pic of the complete assembly, but only missing the chain in the attached pic.

Re: Elite Wheel DRIVE 1,280 gram wheelset - Disc, 45mm
these seem like a lot of fun! Not so convinced about the carbon spokes though. How are they holding up over there?

So far so good. That being said, I only have several hundred kms on it.
I think though, if there were major problems with carbon spokes we’d probably start hearing it from Hyper wheel owners, who could have logged thousands of kms by now.

Long-term prognosis over tens of thousands of kms? Only time will tell.

Re: [Q]Comfortable Long ride Gravel Frame.
I planned to build for riding more than 100km (70-80% pave road)
What I mean is for relaxed bike, not sporty bike.
with 700 with light tyre and wheels.
Now I am looking for tantan GR044
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004310989115.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.72.179431ffyVym4Z&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21USD%21US%20%24569.00%21US%20%24426.75%21%21%21%21%21%400b0a050b16540920677201880e8436%2112000028709493658%21sh

that frame can ship to my country.
But I don't know about geometry.

Look at how the stack/reach from the aliexpress geometry picture compares to your current bike(s).
You can check with https://geometrygeeks.bike/ too.
Usually gravel frames are more relaxed, but not always.

From memory, Tantan doesn't have a really good after sales service in case something happen.

Re: Looking for an aero frame with a round seatpost I'd be surprised if they don't make a comeback.  The industry is gearing up to push droppers for road. Tbh I'd welcome it .... descents are frighteningly steep here.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame So a few updates, managed to score a good deal on a Rival Etap grouppo without a cassette. Basically there are no cassettes in stock in Australia until Sept, all the local bike shops have inventory though for complete groupset purchases :(. I didnt want to wait that long to test it out seeing as I'm using 105+Juintechs and this is Rival  Etaps with Hydro. I also needed the XDR free hub to arrive so in the mean time, I purchased the new 12sp ultegra cassette and installed the sram shifters and deraileurs with the 12sp flat top chain in a set up I call SRAMANO.

Have taken it out for a few rides now, no issues. handled 1100w+ efforts but the biggest thing was the full hydro brakes. Juin Techs are great but man full hydro brakes are awesome.
