Re: New Lexon "spark"
are we hoping for too much from the Chinese hardware on this?

Exactly my thinking.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
just curious, is anyone running this as a gravel bike? The 1056 appeals to me as a frame that could double up as a road or gravel bike (perhaps with 2 sets of wheels), and I was wondering if I'm correct in this assessment.

like everything else with gravel it really depends on what gravel regularly is where you ride and what is your road / gravel mix? if you ride mostly hard pack, bit of washboard, some ruts etc. (basically the strada bianchi) you will be just fine. i can happily ride this even on a madone with 28's. i don't necessarily recommend (on a madone!) it but it's doable. 32c or better yet maxing out to 35c would be ideal if riding the 1056.

single track, roots, mud, lots of loose rock etc. is a whole other story.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame i think the best course of action is to look into the custom 3D printed headset covers that some of the folks with new allez sprint frames have been using? it appears to be a simple 1.5" opening on the head tube since others have used the FSA kit in the thread. see below for a weight weenies posting on it.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Finished painting my frame today.  Just waiting on wheels and a few other small parts so I can put it together.

Re: VB-R-066 D Build After a lot of delays, I finally finished this VB-66 build.
Although I went the budget route, somehow but was able to keep at a very decent 7.625kg.
Paint is holding up well but matte finish gets dirty very quickly. I might add a clear coat later on.
I thought i was going to hate the saddle but so far it has been fine on 2hr rides...
Only thing I might change soon are the brakes. Still playing with different pads to see if they get better.
So far, I'm loving it...

Re: Velobuild VB-R-218 Just finished my build of the 218.     It was an easy build and turned out better then I expected.

Re: Speeder SC-R48
Why wouldn't the manufacturer have pictures of their own bikes?

Possibly because they never expected a group of cheap bike nerds to convene online for the sole purpose of figuring out who the OEM of a specific frame is  ;D

Re: Carbonda Gravel CFR505 build
...Also curious to hear if the frame has held up well!

I didn't know it was available again, that is a great news!

I've built a few dozen of them, not a single issue reported.
And I plan to have a week ride with it in Croatia next month  8)

Re: Seka Exceed Seka sources their carbon from Mitsubishi, and the factory appears to be Qing Liang Composites (轻量复材) who also seem to produce Factor

They are in a completely different echelon of quality and performance from Velobuild which is to be expected given the price difference. But this is not to say that the frameset is faultless, a common compliant with the Seka is that the cockpit drops aren't stiff enough relative to the tops. The Farsports F1 also suffers from this flexy drops problem. Some riders have also reported that the fork could be a little stiffer and that their paint had orange feel. Those looking for the absolute stiffest Seka should opt for the standard Exceed, as the RDC is a little less stiff according to internal testing (source).
