Re: Skywing Carbon - Anyone Heard of Them? It wouldn't surprise me if many of these"brands"are selling the same frames. You need quite a few frames of each size to pay off the molds and I don't imagine there are enough direct customers to make it worthwhile for all of them. It would be interesting to know which seller are directly associated with the factories and which are just resellers.

Re: Skywing Carbon - Anyone Heard of Them?
Also...is it just me, or are all these D2C frames starting to look the same? Are they just mostly coming from the same factories, but but being represented by different sales agents?

Before getting into cycling, I had considered starting a private label custom suit business. After speaking with about 5 or 6 different agents on WhatsApp I determined based on the cloths, buttons, and suiting styles that the majority of these agents were working out the same factory. Or at the very least factories in the same city or even same street.

Private label exists at every level in any industry. Sarto makes frames for brands like WyndyMilla, Heroin, Condor etc. just like how Caruso makes/used to make suits for Ralph Lauren Purple Label and Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece among others.

Re: Speeder SC-R48
Similar to my Skywing Carbon thread...there seems to be an apparent "cash grab" among these factories and agents.

Now that you mention Skywing, I see what you are referring to.

Re: Skywing Carbon - Anyone Heard of Them? Yea, they approached me as well to convince me to buy 1 unit to test (at my expense of course)
I wonder if they are just a new company that doesn’t have their B2C presence thought out.

Likely they go by another name officially and are based out of Xiamen, amongst the sea of carbon fibre manufacturing plants.

Haven’t looked at the geo at all m, but would not be at all surprised if it is just another “open-mould” manufacturer.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Just under 3,000 km on the 168 I built in May last year and so far it's great.

New additions include the 50mm Velobuild wheels and the recently installed HB-011 bars. I previously had the HB-010 with the internal fastening wedge instead of the two outside bolts. Had some play/flex on the HB-010 and not sure if this was related to additional spacing because of the wedge or just how I had it mounted them, however I've been really happy with the HB-011 bars and I did cut off some of the steerer when I mounted them.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Looks really nice! Is the angle more aggressive, or is it just an illusion?

Thanks! Yes the HB-011 have a difference stem angle than the HB-010. Also I ordered a stem that was 10mm longer than my previous HB-010 however because they don't flare forward I'm not feeling stretched even after eliminating a spacer.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Has anybody tried one of the SL7 direct mount mech hangers?

Something like this?

https://www.pedaleur.nl/product/specialized-tarmac-derailleurhanger-my18-my19/

I've been looking for direct mount hanger but I think the 168 one is too different from the SL7. The amount of hanger that goes into the 168 is different as well as how close the screw is to the axle, and the rest of the shape as well ha!

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
Wicked! Can't wait to see the build!
won't be too exciting since its just taking my old hydro rival 22 off my old bike, but stoked none-the-less! L frame with a 120 (hoping it's the 125mm stem you talked about) should look super dope.
