Re: Xiamen Carbon Speed 10 years anniversary special promotion
Hi Peter, I'm in the market for a new frame, could you pm me more details on this and a price, do you do paint designs? Sorry. I was planning to upload our 2nd frameset here, but not sure why I wasn't able to upload pictures again. Could you send me an email and I will reply you with details? Thank you so much. Re: First frameset recommendation price/value
I can only recommend my long teng 268. It's not the newest, not the lightest, but it is cheap, and i'm so incredibly pleased with it. Bear in mind that velobuild is a broker, while long teng is a factory, for example. So value wise, the broker has to eat, and so does the factory. if you go factory direct, you trim a layer of fat. I've put over 8k km on it, i'm faster on the flat and downhill than pretty much everyone i know, and i ride with ex national champions. And to be clear, it's not me, it's the bike. It's just easy to get to 40kmh, and to stay there, with a bit of effort. With older bikes, that would have meant a vo2max effort. Now obviously i'm not saying it's magical, but i'm saying that if you build it right, it can be fast AF. November 19, 2024, 10:11:59 AM |

SL 8 clone
As there is a topic on the SL 8 from Tantan but many people are talking about other sellers, I decided (as suggested by Serge) to create another topic which will allow us to talk about other sellers. For my part, I bought the frame in size 54 from CarbonCycleGear store on Aliexpress: https://fr.aliexpress.com/store/1103601241 The frame weighs 869g (white paint included) and the fork 355g. Communication with the seller is really perfect. He answers all questions even after receiving the frame. I haven't been able to ride the bike yet but the quality looks really excellent as shown in the photos. If you want other photos, don't hesitate to ask. In short, there are certainly plenty of good sellers (and many less good ones) but I highly recommend this one. I will keep you informed of the progress of the bike construction. Feel free to ask anything. DIsclaimer : I am not a expert of carbon nor a pro rider ![]() February 03, 2025, 12:12:46 PM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
I finished building the TT-X68 already two weeks ago, but it was very busy, so here is my update. Carbon quality seems really good. I had zero issues with sharp edges or anything similar. The areas for the break mounts were all sanded down really well and also with the BB and the headset I had zero play/issues. The paint quality is so far superb and I'm more than happy TanTan changed there mind on the color customization of this frame. I use a full Ultegra DI2 Groupset incl. 160mm discs front/rear, except for the crankset. As most of you can tell, I'm using a Magene PES505 in 165mm. In combination with my Novatec R4, some RideNow TPU Tubes and the Pirelli Tires the whole bike is 7152 g. The bottle cages are still in transit, but they will add only about 25g. It's a Size 52. For my first chinese frame experience, this was quite a good one ![]() The only thing I do not recommend is the computer mount. I think the angle of this is too steep, but I already found an alternative. February 10, 2025, 04:11:29 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
Specialized has a fit tool on their website that works pretty well. If you fall between sizes I'd likely size up if you want comfort, sizing down leads to a greater saddle to bar drop.I have done the calculation on the Specialized site in the past, and the size they advised would be way to big for me. So you better not just trust that advise. You can compare the dimensions of your old frame to an SL8 on the different geometry site you can find online and go from there. I am 172 / 82 cm and would definitely not go bigger than a 52. February 13, 2025, 09:12:33 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
For the SL8 Clone I'm thinking of size 52 with a 90 / 100 stem or 49 with a longer stem. If anyone has roughly the same dimensions and gets on well with a particular setup (even with other frames), I would be happy to get some advices. I'm the same height as you at 173cm. I would go with a 52cm frame. My TFSA SL6 clone and my R088 SL8 clone follow the same Tarmac geometry and both my frames are 52cm. You could probably go 49cm if you want a more racier/stiffer setup. My TFSA frame has a slammed stem, while my R088 setup is a bit more relaxed. I'm using both 90mm stems, but I could probably go 100-110mm if I wanted to be ultra aggressive with my fit. TanTan FM301
Hello everyone, here is my go at it. First time building a bike from scratch and obviously first time buying a frame direct from China. Frame, fork & cockpit : Tantan FM301 Groupset : 105 di2 12v (without crankset and consumables) Crankset : Rotor Aldhu with powermeter (from a previous bike) Wheelset : DT Swiss 1400 48mm/62mm (spare) Cheap jockey wheel from Ali KMC chain 1 - Overall pretty satisfied with the build although i did not get to try the bike on the road (recovering from knee surgery). I like how it looks which is already a good thing 2 - The package was delivered damaged but the frame was well protected. 3 - Seems like this bike was designed for a gravel groupset. The FD hanger was not compatible with 105 di2 for 52/36 rings (sitting too low). I had to modify the hanger to make it work. I also went for a gravel crank axle with spacers to increase Q Factor and compensate for little to no clearance with the frame. February 13, 2025, 11:56:12 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
Can't speak to tantan particularly, but generally UD matte has a matte clearcoat, raw carbon is just that.
