Re: New bar installation - is something missing???
No I did not ride the bike at all. This is a BMC Roadmachine. I installed this as per the information provided from the seller (see pics in the link). Also try using the original BMC compression ring and see if that integrates with the Kocevlo top cap. If not try the BMC top cap and see if it sits flush with the spacers. Worse case, some people have resorted to using the original compression ring, top cap and spacers and simply replace the handlebar although I don't recommend this as it may not all fit cleanly together. Re: Replacement for an edge 530?
Hijacking the thread to review my new unit I got a good deal locally on the latest IGPSport binavi Since I'm a slut for computers (bodycount of 13, my longest running until now had been the IGS630, got it 14 months ago which is a record since I started cycling) I figured it would be just a little upgrade over it, bigger screen, touchscreen, new UI and thats about all i expected. It's a huge step up in every way. I never expected it to love it this much and even some areas I didn't think could be improved much have been significantly overhauled Touchscreen is extremely responsive, rerouting is pretty good, display is bright, iClimb is perfect (always starts exactly where I would put the start, always ends exactly at the highest point, plus great UI overlaid on the map instead of a dedicated screen), map layer is a lot better (actually easy to tell roads, gravel roads and singletracks apart), much faster boot time, very fast GPS (zero jumps and autopause AS SOON as i stop/go as opposed to 2-3 seconds on every other unit i tried. the pause button might as well be removed, I don't think i manually paused yet) I have 3 rides on it so far totaling 9 hours and 50 minutes and the battery went from 100% to 63%, always gravel riding with a course loaded (and map page displayed 80% of the time), 3 sensors connected and auto brightness in summer, BUT smart track enabled (only noticed today because intervals.icu told me but data is good). So almost worst case scenario and on track for almost 30 hours, not too bad I also really like all the analysis and summary screens on the main menu. I have not tried segments yet. Being nitpicky, the only quirks I've noticed was the map disappearing for a split second when recalculating a route, "taillight battery" not working with my L508 (magene's fault?), and today's peak 1s power being 1850 at the time I almost fell in the mud because time xc pedals are fucking garbage. (powermeter's fault?) I know the MSRP and size is going to be a dealbreaker for many if not most wanting something basic, but it's a seriously great unit. It's not just magene's C606 being put to shame, it's also garmin that should be shaking PS: Serge, if you want to try out either, I'll be near morez next month if you're nearby August 06, 2025, 01:46:14 PM |

Re: KORE WHEELSET TOP - GUN
If this wheelset fails when you feel the need for speed, then I guess you're right in the Danger Zone.

Re: Replica Factor Ostro VAM
I'm also trying to figure this out. I think if you want the Blue Ceramicspeed you have to buy from Factor? I went with the Ceramicspeec T47a black bottom bracket (non coated). September 24, 2025, 07:42:44 AM |

Re: Replica Factor Ostro VAM
Yeah, just use a cheap AE bb, did the same for my replica Venge. Need to replace it once a year though (bb of +- 15eur)

Re: Replica Factor Ostro VAM
Does it make sense to spend THAT much money on a BB for this frame? Would another purchase from AE not be good enough?I just had this arrive yesterday - The T47a 24mm ceramic for Shimano cranks - Finish & quality seems great for the shell, only time will tell for the bearings but when the time comes I'll swap them out for for some higher quality ones. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008164067923.html?pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2212000044052578216%22%7D&sourceType=1&spm=a2g0o.wish-manage-home.0.0 September 25, 2025, 12:44:50 AM |

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
This might have been already discussed, I forgot - serious question regarding cycling gear of the skin-tight minimal-storage variety: What do you do about everyday carry essentials (full-size phone, fabric-mauling bunch of keys and a non-minimal wallet at the very least)? Phone in back pocket, key under a rock at home, wallet is probably in a cupboard somewhere (haven't used it for years). September 30, 2025, 02:09:05 AM |
