1. Nightmare was by internal routing. I couldnt pull out brake hoses, especially in fork. The holes in fork and frame are too small so its impossible to took it outside - diameter of holes are that same size like brake hoses (should be few mm wider). The frame doesnt have any addictional helpful internal wiring (channels or something like that). Fork has little space inside and the wirels are too tough/stiff. Better situation is in handlebar. I managed with a small plastic tube run throught the frame and fork, screwed together with the wires. 2. Outside the frame looks ok, but inside is a mess - sharp edges near to inner side of bottom bracket. Have to be carefull to not cut yourself. I fix it with a file 3. Expander was too small and very rough, so i took my old one. Inside the steerer tube was a small layer of carbon. So I couldnt insert the expander... I fix it with sandpaper 4. Stem spacers and top cover has 2 holes: for steerer tube and for the brake hoses. The hoses should go from one whole to the second hole. But the space is too small for this operation and the hoses are to stiff (again), so i have to cut with a blade and make one big hole  So the hoses goes from handlebar to the head. And now the handlebar could sits on the up bearings.5. The main paint/main varnist is great BUT the logos are like stickers. They are good but you can scrath it easily. I use the transparent foil to secure it and when I try to correct, I peel the foil wit logos... I expected difficulties espiecially that is replica/fake frame. Overall I solved all problems (except the logos, but i will probably order new FACTOR stickers. I changed from Factor 1 to 2 for no special reason. Second ver is a little better in my opinion. Nicer look, more stiff especially the fork - it has additional grooving in steerer tube, better seatpost mounting (can now install varia radar on it with aluminium arm). For the layman or amateur the differences may be small, if at all. I paid about 850EUR with send, vat, custom duty. Not bad i think. I tooks 1 month for making frame and 1,5 week shipping. Just got my latest set of wheels form Peter. D65CU-33 T1100 rims 18/18H UD paint-less, no logos Black colour Carbon Speed in-house hubs 18/18H straight pull through version 54T ratchets TPI ceramic bearings center lock straight pull for 100*12/142*12 with Shimano HG driver, Carbon spokes 5mm with nipples. RimTape and valves 4 spares spokes (1 of each length) Super nice as always. Some quick pictures.

These aren’t my wheels, obviously, but they represent the highest specifications currently available in this configuration—T1100 carbon paired with the new 18/18 hole spoke hubs. Best to WhatsApp Peter directly for pricing, but last I checked, they were around $950 USD (excluding shipping). +86 182 5080 8148 The only update from XM CarbonSpeed at the moment is that they’re developing a 16-spoke front hub and exploring hidden nipples for carbon spokes. This is exactly the configuration I want to order. Is there anything that can be improved in this configuration, or are you going to order all the highest specifications available from Peter? Can you let me know the final cost of this configuration? As sander said these are pretty much the highest spec Peter does right now. My other set are the same but 50mm with 20 hole spokes. With 1180g. Went with the new hub to save a few grams. Price was $980 plus shipping. Need to get them set up but my 50s are absolutely awesome. Just thought I’d add my 2 cents to this group, as I finally received my frameset at the weekend. I ordered from Polar bicycle store on AliExpress a few months ago. However the frameset took a little longer than others,as I ordered the raw finish with the hologram logo which seems to be more difficult to manufacture and this seller was the first to have it on the market. Honestly I was a PITA customer asking loads of questions and being really picky about every detail, he answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly and never complained. For a size medium/54cm frame weight was 898g, front fork uncut was 410g, 0mm offset seatpost was 125g and a Darimo nexum drag replica in 380x100mm was 284g. The quality was outstanding and just as good as any western brand, perhaps even better. The facing on the BB shell meant there was no paint and the threads were super smooth. The handlebar and seatpost were a super tight fit with no play and the mounts for the calipers were also really well faced and the calipers were perfectly parallel with the rotors when I built it up. It was £864/$1165 delivered to uk including prepaid duty and taxes. The genuine Darimo seatpost was almost half the price of the replica frameset 😂

The replica Darimo handlebar is from the same seller as the frame but the seatpost is a genuine one direct from Darimo. The seller does sell replica Darimo seatpost a for other models like sl8 but he doesn’t have it for the ostro V2 yet.

It's an honest question, i'm curious. How strong are you as a rider and where do you live? I dont understand buying a fake to then put boutique parts on it. I’ve done it on the last few builds, replica frames but with high end components. I strangely like the juxtaposition of the two and also I get bored of bikes quickly so buying replica frames allows me to have a new bike each year without worrying about how much depreciation I would have lost if I’d have bought genuine ones August 21, 2025, 06:21:34 AM |
