Re: 9velo v XMCarbonSpeed? As I suspected, my rims are already being built and they told me I cannot cancel the order because of the custom nature of my wheels...Well you live and learn. At least I didn't drop 3000 on a wheelset only to find ones for 1/3 less haha

Re: On why not to buy IGPSPORT 630S iGPSPORT sent me their latest BiNav computer for review months ago at launch. They wanted a video for me within a week after delivery which is hilarious to offer up a comprehensive review in 7 days. This is my third computer from iGPSPORT after the original 630 (non-S) and BSC300.

These type of videos are always tough to make especially for iGPSPORT computers because they just aren't good enough to ever replace my Wahoo and Garmin computers. No matter how many features or huge toughscreen displays iGPSPORT offers.

Positives:
-FANTASTIC battery life. This cannot be overstated. For all iGPSPORT computers. I can ride 4-5 days a week for a month on a single charge.
-Bright and easy to read displays
-Comprehensive custom page capabilities. Having the screen real estate to display 8-10 data points is a handy.

Negatives:
-My previous 630 and BSC300 could calibrate my power meters within the computer. For some reason this new BiNav cannot. The software/user interface simply freezes and I have restart the entire computer. Most of my PMs have a separate mobile app to calibrate them. But regardless this should absolutely not be happening.

-No workout integration from the likes of XERT or Training Peaks. This one aspect is the nail in the coffin of a deal breaker for me not using iGPSPORT as a primary computers. I'm sure 3rd party support outside of Strava is just a licensing thing. But not being able to auto-load my coach's daily workout and instead having to MANUALLY create the workout with the iGPSPORT...yeah I'm not doing that ever.

-No climb segment feature. With Wahoo you can set auto live segment when approaching a climb. Regardless of loaded routes. "The Summit Live Segments page is set to automatically appear immediately before a climb." This is more handy than I realized. Not for the sake of live timed Strava KOMs (something iGPSPORT also does not have) but just having a heads up to prepare yourself. The climb feature in iGPSPORT only works if you've loaded a pre-created route that has climbs enroute.

-This is a nitpick but their choice of "beeping" sound is rather annoying. It pierces my ears. For light radars and other notifications.

For most recreational riders who just need a computer to display their typical stuff (speed, HR, cadence, power, distance, etc) it's fine. Again, the battery life and display is superb. But I just dont see seasoned athletes using iGPSPORT. The user interface with these Chinese brands always suffers.

The only difference you will notice when you hold them in your hands and the new wheels might be significantly (300g) lighter, and when you look at them on your bike. Other than that, nothing. Its all about the "feel" some will say, yea.......... no.
Why not just get a second wheelset, whatever you think you might like from the many manufacturers here, and try it out? Its all just a hobby after all, no?

Re: Real benefits of upgrading Elite Wheels Drive I or a similar good wheelset If your front rotor is rubbing, look into the fork issues, stiffer wheelset won't help there as you don't send any torque through the front wheel.

Newer wheels have ratchet style hubs, slightly wider dimensions and bit lighter, nothing major.

Actually the "proper" wheel-set from Zen was about 1380gr (although 55F-60R from my 50/50 @1300gr)
So...I won't even see the weight difference.

So far, the only benefit would be a slightly more aero wheel-set. The outer width will be similar to the tires, so there will be a smaller gap.
Maybe also better hubs(?) . If I get the THR R2

Seems like it will only be worth it, if I sell the current wheels at a similar price (as they are more known)

To put this into perspective for you......... if you do a 1h long TT and travel at 45-50km/h for that one hour, the new wheels will save you 10-20 seconds. If this matters to you, only you can decide.

I jumped from Elite Edges (same rim profile as Drive 1st gen) to XMCS 26/33 in 58mm depth. The biggest benefit you may find is width. You will get way less punctures and more robust wheelset with wider rim as it allows for more air volume and wider tire at the same nominal width. I am yet to get a puncture even though the roads where I ride are in the worst condition than they ever were in the last 5 years. It is also way more comfortable. The crosswind stability depends a lot on tire/rim combo as well as rim profile. I've had Elite SLR in 60mm before and they are way less stable than 50mm Edges. However, 58mm XMCS is as stable as Edges (if not more stable).
Regarding the depth, the deeper is not always faster, and the difference is more likely marginal in the all-rounders realm (45-60mm). Direct mullet has no real benefits and IMO it looks worse aesthetically.
