Re: Chinese forks
Pity as the Chinese have decent alternatives to just about every other component, can't fathom that they haven't cracked a half decent fork. I'm still waiting for decent chinese hydro brakes and a derailleur with an actual clutch.

Re: Titanium bolts
If you want a trusted US domestic source, there’s always BetterBolts. I expect to source a bunch of pieces from them this year, starting with a shock bolt for my new FM1002. https://betterbolts.com/ January 31, 2022, 03:15:24 AM |

Re: True CX frame (not gravel)
Depends on lots of things. First how old school cx guy are you? Cx bikes from 8 to 10 years ago had way higher bb than the last few years before everything became a gravel bike. I would personally go with a lightcarbon LCX027-D it is an older style clearance for not much over 38 but old school 65 mm bb drop. In other words a proper cx bike. Big front triangle without much slope good for shouldering. Cx bikes are what I use to buy for my daily bike for the last 20 years or so. What I would do is look for used bike and upgrade components. Plenty of great used cx bikes from the beginning of the disc era. A l twoo hydro group and a great set of wheels would wake up an old cx bike born with cable brakes and crap wheels. Re: LTWOO eGR
Used my eGR for the Cheaha Challenge in Alabama this weekend. 100mi with lots of shifting because it was 9300ft of climbing. Shifted 2,323 times and spent an embarrassing number of hours on the bike (first time doing a century AND first time doing anything even remotely close to that much climbing), but the battery dropped 27% (from 100% to 73%). I'm officially no longer worried about battery life of this setup. Now to throw some real gravel riding at it, since this was all road riding...

Re: Please start using Mywhoosh?
Seconded. I've used mywhoosh and indievelo a bunch last year when my (third) zwift free trial ended and they're great. By far my biggest complaints for both was how lonely I felt being surrounded by bots or just alone in the world. I think I slightly prefer indievelo as you don't need the windows store and it ran better, but they're both great. Fuck the subscription economy

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
I don't get it. First everyone is saying fakes are bad and now you all want one reviewed? Sometimes I think this forum should be called toopoor4sworks.com instead!

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
Has it occured to you, perhaps, that people are not a monolithic entity, but rather individuals with differing opinions? Wow, you must be philosopher. ![]() If people want fakes, I'm all for it. Might as well go all in and get a fake SL8 from Taiwan Eisen and compare it to the real thing. None of this baby step bullshit! November 02, 2024, 11:00:27 AM |
