My body just seems to get along so well with Pinarello geometry. I have had 2 genuine ones in the past and still have my old race bike from 2000. Yes that price for "just" a decal is pretty steep, but I was told most of that cost goes to additional steps required with frame prep and applying, so basically most of that price goes to labor. That kinda make sense to me. So I chose just black paint and will source decals and apply them myself. And if anyone is interested, Jim from LightCarbon was kind enough (thanks to him for amazing support) to send me vector files of their logo (I hope it is ok to post it here). PS: I also modified one file to have round corners (for vinyl decals it is good to have them, sometimes sharp corners can get caught by rug while cleaning and then peel of a bit) PPS: Vector files are in 1:1 ratio and logo is 40x350mm October 15, 2025, 12:06:22 PM |

My frame arrived, it was perfectly packaged, and everything was in perfect condition. Everything is exactly as I ordered, with a significantly higher quality finish and, above all, a superior paint job. It's difficult to photograph and looks even better and very elegant in person. It's not exactly lightweight... with the paint job, 56cm frame, and storage compartment, it weighs 1190g. But that's fine by me. The fork weighs 460g, the handlebars 315g (380/100), and the seatpost 180g. I'm very excited to see how the finished build looks. I would have found assembly instructions for, say, the headset helpful. Wendy doesn't offer anything like that. Otherwise, as I mentioned before, I had a pleasant and professional exchange with her. Incidentally, I specifically requested photos after completion. The storage compartment is fantastic; it's easy to use and very secure. Happy New Year! (The date has already changed here in Japan) The frame arrived at the end of November, and I built it up in early December. Since then, I've enjoyed a couple of weekend rides on it. My previous bike was a 2008 Scott CR1 Team, so this was my first time assembling a disc‑brake road bike. But by following Shimano's dealer manual and some bike‑shop YouTube videos, I was able to complete the build without any confusion. Of course, I also referred to LC's videos and zealot128's videos—thank you for those. Before assembly, I checked the inside of the frame with an endoscope, and it was very clean with no burrs. The ride quality is excellent. Not too soft, not too stiff—neither boring nor punishing. It hits a perfect balance for me. The wheels certainly help, but cruising at around 40 kph feels easy, and I can really sense the aerodynamic efficiency. With my previous bike, riding into a headwind sometimes made me not want to ride at all, but with the LCR018‑D, I still feel like going out even when it's windy. The paintwork is also fantastic. My only personal complaint is the seat clamp. As others have mentioned, it's difficult to tighten with a preset‑type torque wrench. So I've ended up using the beam‑type torque wrench that came with my wife's Canyon Ultimate. Even with Finish Line Fiber Grip and tightening it to 7 (There was no problem if I tightened it to 8Nm.) That said, I'm very satisfied overall. I had my friends test‑ride it as well, and it was very well received. I plan to take good care of this bike. Do We Really Need a Course to Buy Chinese Bikes?
Hi everyone, I wanted to share a quick reflection after reading/analyzing a new “guide to buying Chinese bikes” that’s been circulating lately. To be honest, I find it a bit hard to believe that someone can actually sell a course on this topic. This is where the old saying “those who can, do; those who can’t, teach” inevitably comes to mind. It might sound harsh, but the idea of packaging this kind of knowledge into a paid “course” feels quite absurd to me. A lot of what’s being sold as expertise is something you can already gain through real-world experience, forums, communities, and a bit of common sense. That said, I don’t want to be entirely negative 😅. There was one genuinely positive takeaway: while going through the material, I discovered something I didn’t know before—MMR seems to share the frame (?) with other manufacturers. That part was actually interesting and made me dig a bit deeper. Learning about these kinds of behind-the-scenes manufacturing details is always valuable. So overall, my feeling is that this kind of content would make much more sense as an open discussion and shared experience rather than a paid course. Knowledge about bikes—Chinese or otherwise—is built by riding, testing, comparing, and talking with other riders, not by selling a “one-size-fits-all” guide. Just received the pictures of my freshly painted frame 😍 It’s raw carbon, with a matte finish on the top side and glossy on the bottom, plus my own custom logo.
