Re: Real tire clearance for the Long Teng LT RD-301D
I felt that it was a very specific point regarding this frame.

And that owners of this frame will not necessarily check all post on a generic thread regarding this frame once they already built it.

And last but not least, potential builder/ buyers of this frame with the same question will not have to read all 2 billion post in a generic thread.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. Do you own this frame?

It's fine you can start a thread for any question dude. Some socially awkward people feel they need to chime in whenever a new thread is started. Just ignore or block. No need to explain yourself.

I'm sure you'll get the answer you need :)

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Anyone tried this jersey model from YKYW?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009087318056.html
Maybe someone stumbled onto good perforated/knitted jersey or bibs?

Have not tried this one specifically, but I regard YKYW to be the best of the AliX cycling kit brands. Too bad about those colors though.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Some recent purchases:

MPower Skinsuit : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808160458545.html
This was an immediate return. Fabric was nice and it seemed well constructed, but the jersey part was only attached to the bib part at the back. The front wasn't continuous and had a weird overlap. It seemed problematic from the first moment I saw it.

Sun Sleeves: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805091531524.html
These are excellent. I ordered a couple extra pairs. Highly recommended. I wear a S/M Pearl Izumi sleeve, and this item in a size S is slightly roomier around the upper bicep. Really good.

SRAM brake olives: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807228715931.html
I needed some spares. These are indistinguishable from the SRAM parts.

IIIPRO Rotors : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808392450745.html
These have been discussed a lot. They are great. For the money I think they are unbeatable. I just did a 15k' day on them and they never warped or rubbed on my pads. They are relatively quiet and while not lightweight, they are weight competitive at a fraction of the cost. Really good.

Disc Lock Ring : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807649909354.html
I really like these. I got them on some kind of sale. They have tripled in price. I wouldn't buy them at the current price. Really nice machining and look. Probably not as aero as a smooth domed shape, but you know....... aero is everything, except for when it isn't.

Re: Any recommended Aliexpress vendors for individual rear wheels? If you're limiting yourself to AliExpress I would just message sellers and ask if they would be willing to sell you only a rear wheel. Tagoola comes to mine as a good option.

Re: Any recommended Aliexpress vendors for individual rear wheels? I bought a single front rim from Ace Sprint. Took ages as they're made to order. But overall the quality was quite good.
Reason I went with them was the rim + shipping was the cheapest. Shipping to Aus was $10 compared to $50-$60 other sellers were charging.

Only downside is a 30mm rim was very heavy. But for sub $200 aud + GST shipped i can't complain

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset
Managed to damage the rear rim on my two month old Elites bunny hopping a curb. I’d like to rebuild it myself reusing the spokes and nipples since it’s so new, any red flags to look out for when choosing a replacement rim? I’ve found a few options with the same spoke count and EDR. I'd go with Elite, but a single rim is almost the same price as an entry level wheelset, which seems like a poor option in that context. Waiting to hear back from Elite to see if they'll offer a discount. Cheers!

I wrecked a rim on a pothole and spoke with Elite through the AliExpress messenger service. They pointed me to the exact rim I needed. I taped the rims together and transferred a single spoke and nipple over, one at a time, until the swap was completed.

Re: Chinese cycling clothes I've ordered a pair of YKYW bibs and been very impressed. They feel higher quality then some bibs I've paid 4 times as much for. Any recommendations for stiff xc shoes as the carbon soles on my Northwave extreme XC2 pair are starting to crack?

Re: Alternative to Clik-Valves Just buy the clik valves. They are cheap. It is a great product with some nice people working on it. I bought them for all my wheels. Basically a one-time purchase that will improve your bike quality of life every single day forever.

Re: LTK266-D-SL Tire Clearance The tire clearance on this frame is good.

So far, on a spreadsheet, this frame is a winner. It's similar geo-wise to the Seka Spear RDC in their MR size.

I hope it rides well.

With a 33mm WAM tire, I can fit an 8mm hex key in between both sides of the tire and the frame. My top of tire to inside of frame measurement isn't quite right since the tires are a bit wide for my calipers; it's closer to 15mm. Regardless, a 40mm slick tire should fit with ~4mm clearance, which is probably right for a road bike. The claim that a 35mm knobby tire can fit is spot on.

The big test will come when I ride it, but so far, it seems cleanly made, is 789g w/ all hardware (or ~740g without any / ~780g with bottle cage bolts removed) in a medium despite my paint goof, has loads of tire clearance, uses UDH, and reference internal cable routing geometries. So far its living up to my expectations as the frame I was waiting for.

Re: Magene C606 Bike Computer
So what's the verdict on this one? Did new updates finally made this thing usable ?

Lack of re-routing is still a major issue, I want to be able to zoom in and out of the map more to get my bearings, and I still haven't been able to get D-fly mapping to work to flip through my screens without taking my hands off the hoods. Those are my only issues with it at this point
