I could be missing a trick here, but I found it really frustrating to set a precise saddle tilt angle with this seat post. As I tightened the single bolt, the angle kept changing (the saddle tilted further to the back). So I ended up with a trial-and-error approach, where I loosened the bolt, tilted the saddle forward more than I wanted, tightened up the bolt, and checked what the final angle was. Took a number of attempts to get it to where I wanted. With the two-bolt design of the regular Elita One seat post (and from many other brands), I can just alternate between tightening the front and the rear bolt until I get the angle I want. I know this is not following the instructions from Elita One, but it worked for me with their regular seat posts. May 08, 2025, 07:44:46 AM |

Update Thanks so much to everyone who’s contributed so far — I’ve already booked my flight to the Cayman Islands! 😄😄 This afternoon, I emailed Carbon Cycle Solutions in Bedford regarding a frame inspection. Once they get back to me with details on what their inspection includes, I’ll post an update here. Also, someone I know who has ordered an X68 has kindly offered their frame for inspection once it’s delivered — much appreciated! Bikes are so much fun to build up. Even if I have no reason to build another one. I'm gonna become that old grumpy man who yells at all the kids in the neighborhood, but also secretly enjoys building and fixing their bikes in my garage. My dad was a welder by trade. And spent weekends tinkering with his Oldsmobile in the garage on weekends. Sorry this has nothing really to do with the topic. Hi guys! First and probably last post on here, as I prefer to lark in the dark. Anyways, I have been in contact with Velobuild about the frame and the (lack) of handlebar options. Today I received confirmation of the option of 3D printing a different topcap after I created the 3D spacers for FSA ACR for them to "incorporate" to their topcap design. It seems you're already set for the 24mm spindle. But anyone open to DUB should probably consider Sram Red. They are lighter than chinese options and also rock solid and proven. The longer versions (170mm+) are currently 340 € at R2-Bike. This plus an XCadey at 188 € was in the end cheaper than Magene TEO for me.

XM Carbon Speed Race Frame - The wish list
Rumour has it Peter and Co. at XMCS are going to be making a race orientated frame in the future.... So what would your fast frame wish list be? Peter, if you're out there, and the rumour is true, I'd like something along the lines of a Ridley Noah / Noah Fast Steep seat angle, long reach, low bb and aero. UDH. 34mm clearance. I really like the idea of an affordable bayonet fork-type bike with a focus on low frontal area in development. But, I think it's essential to step back and not jump on the fit more important than design wagon. If the goal is to grow into a brand that has products raced at the highest level or even is common among top amateurs, +25mm in stack and a shorter reach is a bad idea as a rule for a race bike, particularly if you are also playing with reach and front-end geometry. An aero endurance bike is an oxymoron, and there are plenty of aero-looking endurance bikes that customers can buy whose main function is to look the part. If there are the resources for it, I would probably spend a lot of time thinking about the cockpit design and how to make the bike more adjustable than today's bikes, using the differences that an S5-like bayonet front end allows. The spacer system is different; the max and min spacer height might also be different.
