Here's a photo and video of one of my paint jobs: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/V-t9kH_zGyU The frame is a Winspace SLC 2.0 and stem is S-Works SL. The frame started out life in the Superlight Black colorway, this was the process: Frame: - Sand to bare carbon - Transparent adhesion promoter with a faint silver sparkle - Candy Black from Specialist Paints - White fade base is Dolomite from Montana Cans - Snow White Pearl from Specialist Paints over the Montana Dolomite - Clear intercoat/Wet sand - Decals are painted on with Ford Champagne Gold - 2k clear coat/Wet sand - More 2k clear coat - Wet sand until smooth - Cut and polish with orbital buffer Fork: - Sand to bare carbon - Adhesion promoter - Montana Shock Black - Alcohol ink job with Tim Holtz alcohol inks and 99 iso - 2k clear (lots of it due to the alcohol ink texture)/Wet sand until smooth - Montana Dolomite white base/Specialist Paints Snow White Pearl - 2k clear/wet sand/cut and buff Will post a couple more paint jobs when I get a chance.

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame
I'm interested to hear what alternative one piece bars folks are using on their builds. I'll be looking for 120 to 130mm options, currently favouring the bigrock skyline. I used the balugoe one piece for my r088. I just bought a second one for my r065 build. I can't event see why would someone not like that handlebar. 100% impressed with quality for price. I paid around 70 usd on ali July 06, 2025, 05:51:14 AM |

The split ring that came with it is too shallow, though. And the one that comes with the frame is too thick. So I am now waiting on some spacers that should take care of it. I could machine down the thick one, but I'm waiting on other parts anyway. Once I do get it in there properly I'm sure it will do nicely. July 06, 2025, 09:55:44 AM |

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame
I have the lexon in my cart as an option. The C shaped ring that sits on top of the top bearing. You want the base of the spacers to sit close to but not touch the frame. Right now I think one spacer is about .050" too thin and the other .050" too thick. I have two of the below on order - those should work. Or I can still machine down the one that's too thick. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808884068509.html? July 06, 2025, 05:58:33 PM |

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame
So will I also need an rd adapter? I'll be installing ult di2. I don’t believe so, you’d just use the b-link included with the derailleur to attach to the udh as with a normal hanger (maybe someone can confirm that because I’ve never used udh, this is just based on the little research I’ve done). I just wanted to take advantage of DM. July 15, 2025, 06:35:00 AM |

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame
Received my frame set today, it was very well packaged and no damage to box. Weight of 58cm frame including thru axle and its cardboard sleeve is 970g. Goes without saying that’s over 1kg lighter than my condor frame, I estimate completed build will be about 7.5kg based on weight of condor. So far no problems, di2 routing was fairly straightforward, battery sat nicely in its little carriage at bottom of seat post, didn’t have to sand anything. So far I’ve only routed rear hose and fitted crankset. Got nice exs bars that will eventually go on my condor, but using them to test my fit (using myvelofit) before I order an integrated set. Shortlist for that is avian canary, the one ultra, Lexon Vera or balugoe. And got a set of easedon flyweight 40mm on the way. I’d say the paint is not amazing, I mean they’ve done a decent job but it’s just not the deepest black. There’s some residue from the packing all over the paint, I’m hoping it will just polish off. Also some imperfections like tiny indents in top tube near seat post that catch the light, carbon all sounds good though. July 24, 2025, 04:39:02 PM |

How does it look with fork installed? Had the same thoughts with the bearing. But installed and with preload it looks like it should. July 26, 2025, 09:55:20 AM |

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame
Is there much advantage to using the direct mount mech hanger over the provided 1? I'll be using same mech and haven't changed. I checked the alignment this morning and it was spot on. Bars are out for delivery:) It’s 20g lighter 😅 but not really much advantage August 07, 2025, 05:58:18 AM |
