Regarding to the aliexpress listing the stock chain ring should be 6mm offset, so quite interesting how you get a 55mm chainline

How's the clearance of the chain ring? Do you have some room or is it already close to the frame? Carbomania told me max chain ring size for 52mm chainline would be 32t but I doubt that tbh

I guess I am trying out different ways of using the spacers, I have one spacer now on the Drive side (it says MTB on it :)). I might have measured it wrong last night (was in a hurry) but will check more thouroughly tonight.

But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that 32t is max for the frame, atleast with a 52mm Chain line.
I barely have any space between frame and chainring now. Max 1-2mm

No issues building it. Threads in BB where smooth, no issue aligning brakes. Cable routing was smooth (only one hose thou)

Fun first 1,5h ride with both rough and smooth trails and some gravel roads. Bike feels great. The only issue so far is some seatpost slippage but I didn't have any carbon paste at hand. And some fine tuning needs to be done on the derailleur. I tuned it on a different cassete from another wheel, but that didn't work great.

So far so good

The bike weighs 9,5kg (XL frame) with pretty heavy tires (850g) so could easily shave a few grams. But will ride like this first.

Re: Recommendations for a downcountry fork? Wolftick on YouTube tested a bunch of the cheap Chinese stuff and rides pretty agressively, may give you a good idea.

Re: Meinier 24” MTB build I am not sure what modern geo means for a 8-11yo kid to be honest.
There is only a short period of time the frame would really fit them even in the 3y span they will fit on it. Drop,, reach are going to change so much that I really don’t think 2deg of HA will make much of a difference

My new build Ceccotti DCMF07 just finished of the build,
11.4KG wet, with dropper and fox 34
all the parts except from the fork are from Aliexpress

ceccotti mf07 frame
Elite wheels ent (carbon) 25X30
Zrace M1 2 piston brakes
ks 900i Dropper
im 185cm and took the L size

new fork sleath stikcers are yet to come

The Meiner Snake looks to be as good as it gets. It might be possible to fit an angleset to improve the angles in conjunction with a 130mm fork.

I am really happy with my frame Meinier frame. Good build quality, hassle free build. Rides really good
