Re: What’s Possible Under $1,700
You can save a lot on the wheels or get more bangs for your bucks with other brand IMO. In that budget if you ditch electronic groupset in favor of mechanical, you can upgrade to carbon crankset and lightweight cassette to get a higher specced bike I think

I am pretty new too. For wheels, tagoola, elite wheels, light carbon, xmcarbon, bitranz and CSC are regularly recommended here. Cassette, Spedao, goldix and ztto have good offering Crankset, pick one with potential to add a power meter later, bigrock, riro, lexon, zrace, leese, racework June 26, 2025, 12:24:27 PM |

Re: What’s Possible Under $1,700
I'm in California! My Chinese road bike hits that price range at around 6.8kg using sub 1100g wheels, running LTwoo ER9 ver. 1 and on a SPCycle R088 frameset. I have a buddy riding ICAN G25 gravel wheels, and he seems quite happy with them. Though there are lots of equivalent wheels you can buy direct from China at a lower price point. I'm the only person with a full Chinese built bike amongst my cycling circle. I really don't see much difference in performance between my frames and their bikes, other than price! ![]() June 26, 2025, 01:20:29 PM |

Look up "Twitter carbon Road Bikes" on Aliexpress. They have many configurations and price ranges. Could give you a baseline for comparison what your budget can purchase for a complete bike. https://www.aliexpress.us/w/wholesale-twitter-road-bike.html?g=y&SearchText=twitter+road+bike&attr=10637-4189441%2C10794-4191942%2C10732-4187939&shpf_co=US June 26, 2025, 04:37:09 PM |
