Re: ICAN Flyee Frameset
Any feedback on the ride quality with this frame please? I had my boyfriend ride the Flyee since I'm not really riding atm and the fit is better for him anyways. He works in a shop that sells a lot of high end, brand name bikes (Colnago, Pinarello, Enve, Wilier etc.) so he gets the opportunity to test ride a lot of different bikes/geometries on a regular basis and has much more nuanced sense of bike geometry than I do. He did a small sprint and asked "does this frame have short chainstays? It feels very snappy and responsive in the back" and I said "yes, they're 408mm." He Also mentioned that he liked how the front end felt and mentioned that if felt like it had a steep head tube angle. I responded that the headtube is not that steep (72 degrees), but the rake is 44mm so that is probably what he was feeling. He likes that twitchy, responsive feeling but mentioned it might not be for everyone. Overall he said the bike is pretty snappy and accelerates quickly. From looking at the Elgath frameset, it has very similar geometry to the Flyee, they both have higher stack, short chainstays and not much rake on the fork so they should handle similarly. The major difference is that the Elves frameset is $100 cheaper and says it only has clearance for up to 28c tires, I managed to fit 35c onto the flyee without issue. Just finished up an AeroGrav build. Only took it for a short 8Km shake out ride but it's feeling really good so far. So far I really like it. I have tested it on a few nice gravel roads, a bit of single trail, normal roads. Feels good, except for steep descents... which is not really the terrain it is build for. The biggest thing I’m learning from the entire discussion is that people have different preferences and perspectives. There is no right or wrong and nobody will actually convince someone else that his/her viewpoint is better. My point of view is that you need to stay true to the type of bike you intend to design. For all features / shapes etc you need to ask yourself: does it stay with the philosophy of the design? Otherwise it’s not really clear what type of bike it is. So even if fork mounts would only be 0.3 watts slower, I wouldn’t go for them. Because the end product will be unclear. Is it meant to be an aero bike, travel bike or in between? I am confused, does she have pretty, long legs, or pretty-long legs. This makes a difference in frame sizing. Leg inseam length and leg to torso ratio could help others help you. probably they are pretty long and pretty and long .. ... back to the original question. The trend of long frames and short stems for Gravel bikes is a nightmare for that. The Carbonda 505 would give a short geometry but doesn't allow 48mm tires. I have seen a model from Tantan which was also very short.and allowed for 50mm tires. I am just not to sure if I could recommend Tantan... of everything goes well it's fine. Found the complete bike on insta site of LocaBikes. Seems to be the new model of Libre. On the homepage it is still the older framemodel. I found a video from the Velodays event, where they show the bike. Mondince FM326 Size XS has super short reach with 362mm combined with 549mm stack. 50mm TC I haven't seen a gravel frame with shorter reach if that's what you want. This frame should tick all your boxes. March 18, 2026, 11:55:47 AM |

My Ceccotti RF25/SPCycle G056 has been a banger in terms of comfort and slack fit. If it had UDH, it'd be near perfect. SPCycle has newer gravel frames with similar geometry (plus UDH) that might be good options. I'd also explore shorter crank lengths as well. I'm seeing 160mm and shorter cranks becoming more common, so that's something to keep in mind.
