Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
Yo yo yo 3D printable box version 2 is out! Took some suggestions from the forum into consideration, so here you go if anyone wants it. Main improvments: - Better fit to the frame, as I took some time to model the geometry of the frame - Can be used with an aero bottleholder in the frame - Lid is held on with a pin (because I lost the lid of the old box several times )Link to new box: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7073969 Happy to take input for version 3 from all of you! Re: VB TT-023: Here comes a new build
Do you have the reference for the BLIPS supports to put at the end of the extensions or is it a 3D homemade construction? Hi, yes: https://leapcomponents.com/product/sram-s900-grip-shifter/ https://leapcomponents.com/product/sram-wireless-blips-tt-shift/ (newer version) https://leapcomponents.com/product/sram-wireless-blips-45-degree-tt-mounts/ (older version, which is what I use) July 17, 2025, 05:30:51 AM |

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
Hey triathletes, Well, I'm 187 cm tall (6'2" for all the U.S.-Americans out there) and I ordered a size L, which was too small for me. But by putting my saddle all the way back and cutting a custom TT base plate from a 4 mm carbon sheet to put the arm rests 4 cm further forward, I made it work. July 17, 2025, 05:34:23 AM |

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
I'm also currently building a 1X crankset with Sram and 165mm. I can't find a reliable site that has a crankset available with these specifications (Red, Force, whatever). Even used ones. They've become a rare commodity! It is important to have an open hip angle. This will help you when running after cycling. This can be achieved with a shorter crank, for example. Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
Has this already happened to anyone here? Unfortuneatly yes.. the top half of the stem cracked twice for me (they had already send a replacement but that cracked as well.) Now they shipped a whole new stem (top and bottom). I replaced it this week and now it seems to be fine. It is supposed to be an improved design (although i can tell them apart). I am very scared to tighten them. I only went to 3.6NM but that seems to do the job. No crack this time. Edit: I have to say.. they responded very friendly to all my (irritated ) messages. They kept replying to find solutions to the problem and kept shipping them out to me for free. So overall for the service a big thumbs up!

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
Yo yo yo, 3d printable rear bottle holder is finished! It replaces the one that comes with the frame, but elevates the bottle higher and mounts it horizontal. I suggest using a bottle mount adapter for fine tuning the fore/aft of the bottle, but it could be mounted directly. (Depending on the bottle cage, you might touch the bottle though) It is compliant with the current ironman/world triathlon rules about the mount for the rear hydration having to fit in a 30x30cm box. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7128222 August 26, 2025, 02:53:36 AM |
