carbon decal on a milled aluminium chain ring? it’s not a decal. It’s an aluminium chainring with a carbon fibre insert, very similar to how Cybrei makes their rings. I’m assuming from the “decal??” comment that you thought it might be a sticker or something purely cosmetic, but it’s not. It’s an actual carbon insert bonded into the chainring, like the ones from XM Carbon Speed. To be honest, I don’t think it offers a huge performance benefit — maybe a small weight saving compared to a full aluminium ring, but it’s marginal. For example, I’ve got the Cybrei carbon chainring on my bike, and the aluminium version is only slightly heavier.
