Re: Trailduro VPP frames I was part of the Haideli group buy on here. Heck, people even accused me of being a Haideli employee on here. My frame was ok but had the dreaded rear wheel wobble. The fix that guy did on here was pretty good, but didn't totally eliminate it. Then my frame developed some creaks that I couldn't solve. I scrapped it. I saw the BXT upgraded frame that seemed to have a linkage that fixed the issue with the Haideli design. It even had a straight top tube and looked so much better. And it was insanely cheap. I gave it a shot and its been fantastic. No issues yet whatsoever. No wobble, no creaks. I love it.

I´ll update here once i got to use them. Got a few brakes to compare to:
Hope Tech 4 V4, Shimano XT 4-Piston, Magura MT5 and MT7, Hayes Dominion, Speedone E4, ZTTO Team.
The quick disconnect on the lever seems to be holding the pressure from playing around with the brake.. we`ll see how long it'll hold up in bikeparks

And yes, those are the ZTTO Team, brakes. I had 2 Sets of them and all 4 Brakes are somehow broken. 1 Cant turn the lever adjust but otherwise still working. the other 3 are all leaking on the lever or the caliper.

Absolutely nothing. My 13 year old Hopes have had one fluid change in that time and a mate has a set on a hard tail from the early 2000's that have only ever had pads. I suspect some of the hate for DOT fluid in mtb brakes comes from how bad Avid brakes were to live with. Micro leaking Shimano callipers seem far more common than any other brand for example but that's blamed on Shimano rather than the fluid they use.

I have in my possession 3 different sets of new brakes for braking experimentation.   The new Wheeltop 4-piston brakes, the set of Frog wake FV4s - both mineral based fluid,  and a set of Hope Tech Duo E4 brakes.  (Dual Right hand independent Levers with 2 calipers - Dot5.1 brake fluid based.)   

I have on order a bunch of Hope Tech 16mm Dot5.1 brake fluid caliper O-rings that should work on the IIIPro calipers, and other 16mm calipers, to convert them to being compatible with the Hope tech brakes.  (Frustrated because the shop I purchased from hasn't shipped them yet. - It's been a month already.)

A month + ago I purchased one of the Aliexpress dual rear caliper mounts.   (All the reviews complain that the second caliper quickly breaks off, so I added a 2mm thick steel brace to the bottom of mine to stiffen it up.)

My plan is to run the Hope Tech duo lever with one Hope E4 Caliper, and one IIIPro caliper, (And others)  and see how the Chinese caliper performs compared to the Hope Calipers.

Now that winter is here, this project will likely not get much testing until spring. I will work on the brakes and get things set up.

I purchased a Hope Tech Duo brake set.  This is a RH unit with 2 levers built into it.  It arrived with both the front and rear calipers and hoses already attached and filled with brake fluid.. 
I want the Duo levers to be able to eventually run 2 calipers in back, one of the stock Hope E4 calipers, and then test 2nd calipers using the other lever.  (This is part of the reason, I am interested in what width rotors I can run and/or use in order to fit both a Hope E4 caliper and other Chinese brands of 4-piston calipers.)

I've tried ZTTO 2.3mm Rotors on both the R2X4 and the Speedone Solider (E4). It works without rubbing and since those rotos dont bend easily it will stay like that. But keep in mind that setup will be more difficult and you should definetly reset your pistons before that. Magura Brakes have serious problems with rubbing on those disc rotors and for shimano i had to let out a little bit of oil. Hope Tech 4 V4 had no problems at all.
My R2X4 is still not leaking btw. not sure if im just lucky.

Last summer I got these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009880054213.html and used them for about 10K km on road and will need replacing for 2026. My wife was using the Cooma pinks for about the same. Both PADS :) performed the same and made the same noise when wet lol
