Shimano di2 groupsets from aliexpress
Hi everyone, I’m thinking about buying a Shimano 105 Di2 full groupset from AliExpress. It’s quite a bit cheaper than buying it locally here in South Korea. Has anyone here had experience ordering it from AliExpress? Did everything arrive okay, or is it risky? Sorry if my English isn’t perfect, and thanks in advance for your help! RE: I ended up ordering the groupset from the Anrancee store on AliExpress. At first, there were some issues when they shipped the goods — the package got blocked at the sorting center, probably because of the battery included in the groupset. The seller was cooperative, though it took him a little time to respond to all my (slightly panicked) questions. Eventually, they re-sent the package via UPS Express at no extra charge and declared the value as $50, so I didn’t have to pay any customs duties here in Korea. Never had issues. Ordered a 105 2x12 Di2 set from anrancee cycling store (which i find to have some of the best Shimano stuff on aliex) and it arrived in a few weeks, all fine. Have also purchased an Ultegra Di2 set second hand from another dude who got it off AliEx. Definetly legit stuff. Would be interested to hear if anyone had any bad experiences with this to be frank! i purchased my full 105 12s di2 groupset for about $800 USD. arrived outside of the original packaging to fit in a small box, but it's been functioning as expected and the components seem to be genuine

Took it out on its maiden voyage tonight, just a quick shakedown for 30km. To be honest it didn’t feel that much different to my Condor, it wasn’t exactly mind blowing, but still nice. I wasn’t pushing it though. I’m not trying to say it’s slow or anything, nor am I disappointed, I just think it’s more about the rider than the bike. That said I’m very excited to get back out on it. Weighs in at around 7.1kg, minus varia + mount, light, saddlebag, computer, bottle. Specialized Sworks seat post fits a treat and it’s really a lovely thing, glad I got it. The balugoe handlebar is also really nice, stiff enough, but like I said this was an easy ride, I weigh 75kg and I’m not that powerful so ymmv. Hi guys, I'm new to the forums. I want this post to serve as an introduction: I'm Daniel and read the forums mostly to learn about more straightforward cycling products made in China. I grew kind of bored of the marketing especially for road bikes, so here I am, looking for a new frame on which to build an all rounder road bike. No, I don’t think a 1000g wheelset is worryingly light at all — there are wheelsets out there that come in at 650–750g, so it’s not unheard of. When I made my decision, I did put some thought into it. I’m around 75kg on a good day, and if you’ve read the thread, you’ll know my front wheel has a 90kg rider weight limit. So I went ultralight on the front. For the rear, I could’ve gone with a 90kg limit too, but I chose a wheel rated for 100–110kg to give myself a bit more margin. That’s in line with other respected brands like CRW (Craft Racing Works), which also have 100kg rider limits — and I’ve used those wheels before without any issues. Yes, in hand they feel light, but if you’re going to ride a wheel with a 90kg rider limit, you just need to be mindful of how and where you’re using it., I’ve also got another set of 60/65 mm wheels with a 90kg rider limit that weigh around 1230g, and I’ve been riding them for months with no problems and I'm in the UK where we are not exactly know for our smooth roads  So if you're someone considering going down the ultralight route with 90kg rider weight limit wheels, you really need to think about how you're going to use them. Personally, I wouldn’t use a wheel with that limit for anything other than road riding. I know some people use them on gravel, and some are even sold as gravel-capable — but if I were going to run a 90kg limit wheel on gravel, I’d want to be around 65kg myself. If you're looking for something super lightweight but still robust, brands like XM CarbonSpeed are worth checking out. They use T1100 carbon in their lightweight wheels, which is rare — most brands stick to T1000. And despite being lightweight, many of XM’s wheels have a 120kg rider weight limit, which says a lot about their engineering. So yeah, it really depends on the brand, the materials used, and how well the wheels are designed. Just make sure the specs match your riding style and weight. August 29, 2025, 03:52:37 AM |
