Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
Already got feedback from TanTan (Vivian). 1. They will conduct an in-depth investigation into the fork issue of the TT-X68. 2. After doing so and finding the root cause of this material problem (if there is any) they will sent out a new and painted fork. 3. From the pictures provided they stated the frame looks ok and should be safe to ride, but checking every mm visually plus doing the "coin" test should be the next step from my side. In any case of noticable damage I should get back. Lets see... May 04, 2025, 07:45:07 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
Just to add some riding experience here: After a couple of kms, I'm really happy with the bike! Frame and wheels are/feel much stiffer than my 2021er TCR. Together with the lower weight this is noticeable in accalerations and also while climbing. At the same time, the bike doesn't feel more uncomfortable than the TCR. Bike handling in decends is also very comparable and "unremarkable" in a positive way (no "wobbling" or else...). Unrelated from the frame itself, the Wheeltop group has beed hassle-free and works very well. The broken fork really is a bummer, and not very confidence-inspiring. However, mine is still in one peace, also after a couple of bunny hops, pot holes and heavy breaking on steep hills (which really, and unfortunately, doesn't mean anything ).

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
I’ve been a silent observer on various forums discussing different frame options, and eventually decided on the TT-X68. Unfortunately, I now regret that choice—here’s why. I'll be honest, the way you started this post, I thought you had a catastrophic frame or fork failure. I don't want to dismiss your feelings; they are valid, you paid for the service, and it didn't deliver as per the requirements. However, in my humble opinion, you are overreacting. I'm just here praying that the frame and fork I'll receive won't fail on me and cause a serious injury. Let's be realistic and adjust our expectations here. It's a Chinese OEM factory that most likely outsources the production of this frame, and they operate via WhatsApp or Email for sales. These things happen. If you have buyer protection via PayPal you can escalate things. May 27, 2025, 09:41:33 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
I purchased a Spcycle R088 frame, I asked them directly if the R088 frame is produced by them, or if they commissioned it from another manufacturer. There's no reason for them to be transparent with you about the origins of a frameset. Just as tantan isn't transparent about the x68, or the x70. I wouldn't rely upon what they tell you unless you're approaching them to build a couple thousand framesets a year for your bike brand, and even then you better have boots on the ground. Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
I’ll take a look at the full steel ZTTO—sounds like a solid recommendation. The wheels I mentioned are from Zen Carbon: https://zencarbonbike.com/road-wheels/. They're based in Xiamen. The thing is, I can get dealer pricing from Winspace, and back when I was ordering their products, I used to deal with a lady named Zara. She left Winspace and moved to Zen. She added me on Instagram, and we’ve been in contact a few times—I made some inquiries but never ended up purchasing anything. Zen seems legit—there’s a lot of content on Instagram showing customer bikes and builds. https://www.instagram.com/zencarbonbike?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw== I'm a bit of a weight weenie, so my thought was to get something around 1000g but not super shallow. I was racking my brain today trying to remember her name and the company, and finally did. I DMed her on Instagram yesterday to ask about T1000/T1100 rims that follow the newer trend of wider internal widths (24–26mm). She offered me some hubs, but none of the OEMs seem to beat the weight of the H-Works SR270 hubs I mentioned earlier. I brought those up, and it seems they must use them too—she said she’d get me a price. If you had a H-works SR261 hub 24/24 spoke this would increase the rider weight limit to 110kgs with about a 19g weight penalty Here’s what she came back with and these rims are available in 35-60mm Rims *Inner 24mm,T1000; Front 45mm -340g;Rear 50mm-360g Spokes:Carbon, width 3.1mm,weight 2.1g/pcs Hub:H-works Hub SR270 ,20/20H,276g Wheelset weight:1060g+/-20g Price:635USD/Set including shipping and custom tax May 28, 2025, 10:18:28 AM |

Wait so TanTan lurks this thread, never chimes in or engages its customer base, but steals photos for Instagram? I've emailed plenty of my official photos to TanTan for usage and promotion. It's just not great optics to grab photos without tagging. Especially incomplete builds Sorry @Sander2177https://www.instagram.com/p/DKMHB6huvkE/ May 28, 2025, 11:00:37 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
I just had my first little 44k testride on my build. I ordered it on 23rd of April and I received it ... not exactly sure anymore ... end of May, so slightly over a month. Its black matte, so basically no extra paintwork. I payed 710,80 € including shipping to Germany (779 USD). Size 58 Frame: 835g Fork (uncut): 389g (I think I took about 10g off when I cut it) Handlebar (120x400mm): 357g Seatpost (380mm): 193g Overall the packaging and the parts looked good when they arrived. The brakemounts werent really well faced. I used a file to file it roughly flat. Worked well enough I think. I have the same "problem" I have seen in this thread before that the little copper-colored insert for the through axle was stuck to the frame in the rear, while for the fork it can be easily removed. I took my sweet time with the build. Part of it was that I wasnt sure what other parts I wanted. I finally ordered the Elite Wheels Drive II on June 11th and they took their sweet time to arrive (middle of August I think). Even then I was partly lazy and partly hesitant. As I said it was my first build and especially cutting the fork and the brake lines were a bit scary to me. In the end I learned a lot and it wasnt really as bad as I thought it would be. I usually service my old bike myself, so I am somewhat confident in my abilities and my ability to learn. So then to the testride. It was mostly about gaining confidence in the bike and in my work I guess ![]() Up until know I have been riding a 2012 Rose Xeon RS. Aluminium, Rim Brakes, Mechanical Ultegra Groupset. Nothing fancy, but enough to ride 40 km/h average in relatively flat sportives. The new bike feels nice, responsive, fast ... though I have to say I expected .... more? in comparison to my Alu-Bike. Dunno how to say it, to be honest. It does feel faster though. That being said .. who knows what makes it faster ... is it the frame, is it the wheels .. or is is the more aggressive position I have to ride with this bike... I am 194cm tall ... the 58 frame is .. probably just about okay. The saddle height is roughly the same. I have the seatpost as far out as the indicator allows. I am tempted to pull it out just a little bit more. The handlebar is quite a bit lower than on my old bike, though. Two seemingly more common problems in this thread were a slipping seatpost and rubbing spacers. I installed the seatpost with some carbon paste and torqued it to 6nm. So far it didnt slip even a bit. I also have no problems with the spacers, they have enough room to move without rubbing on the frame. So overall I am quite satisfied with the build. MY position on the bike is on the extrem end for me. For tomorrow I have a 100k ride planned. If I am satisfied with that ride I will use the bike for the "Münsterland Giro" on October 3rd. After all that I will have to decide wether I want to keep the frame or get something with a more relaxed geomety for me ... maybe the LCR018-D. Edit:// Obviously I still have to add the handlebar tape. Wanted to make sure I'm satisfied with the position of the shifters. They are relatively, traditionally "straight". I tried to have them angled inwards at first. Many say thats more comfortable. Maybe I didnt try it long enough to get used to it, but I didnt really like it, so I put them on straight. Edit_2:// As seen on the picture - but without the saddlebag, the bottle and the Garmin - it weighs 7.5 kg. September 27, 2025, 08:11:08 AM |

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
Hello everyone, I had the same problem with the seatpost on mine. Even tightening the bolt to 6 Nm, the seatpost would still slip. In the end I fixed it by cutting a small shim out of a Coca-Cola can and putting it between the seatpost and the frame. And of course, carbon assembly paste — I’m guessing you’re already using that, right? January 01, 2026, 03:21:09 AM |
