Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes?
So, I finally got my frame in today. Here are some pictures of me unpacking it and checking it out with an endoscope camera. These are not the best quality pictures, but you can see that everything inside the frame is really neat, with no sharp edges or anything else. I will be building the bike with my friend this Saturday, and I will post some more pictures with the weights of the stuff and so on. My frame is size 58. All weights of the individual parts are: Frame - 971,8g Fork - 360,03g Seatpost - 163,5g Cockpit - 357,4g https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ECYjE7t443kKLPjBBGKWUSLbhGIo3fcP?usp=sharing All of the pictures are in this google drive folder.. I couldn’t upload any phots here and if i did it broke the whole topic page returning 500 error :/ March 24, 2025, 08:42:53 AM |

It sheared at the caliper mounting location? As an aside, I know folks hate to resize photos but large photos are hard to view on a smallish screen-think laptop... May 02, 2025, 11:33:22 AM |

Re: SL8 Replica Build
Hello BigApple, could you give me an update on your SL8 clone after a year? I was informed by Tan Tan that the seatpost wouldn’t work. When I tried my Darimo post from my Genuine SL8, the width was fine, but the thickness was slightly larger. Why would you want to swap the post? If it’s just for zero offset, you could instead get a slightly shorter handlebar—10–20mm—and move the saddle forward a bit. Regarding Yoho bikes, personally, I wouldn’t buy a frame from them. I have an X68, but if I had to buy a frame with logos, I would go with Polar Carbon Fibre. I know three people who have purchased their frames, and all of them have been happy so far. Re: SL8 Replica Build
I have a SL8 from Yohobike and when I compare my frame to the X68, I am pretty sure that Yohobike and TanTan share the same manufactor. The bottom bracket on both frames is not even faced compared to the real one. Both seatposts have the identical seatpost with the grip texture at the bottom of it. I am pretty happy with my frame and for the price I got it with the AliExpress coins + coupon code, I paid 549USD with shipping and no taxes, delivered by UPS (quite surprised about that). The only downside that I have with YohoBike, it is not their frame but their lack of communication. Once you submit the payment, they act like submarine, disappear for few days, even a week and tell you « ok » and then disappear again. But based on the behavior of TanTan after the fork broke down, I think they are equal. Moreover, TanTan quoted 260$ for Ice Break paint, whereas Yohobike quoted me 100$.
